Didn't we see Leia as Boushh at two consecutive SDCC before she was shipped?

Pretty sure she shipped in less than a year, but honestly don't remember.

And I don't think having Vader 2x at SDCC would be that big of a deal... I imagine once he's released they will keep bringing him for a while as an example of their past work... nothing sums up SW like an armored Vader.

And the buzz this year will be around whatever new offering they have. I'm hopeful we see Vader before July of this year, but like MF mentioned. Stormies were production samples when we saw them and are just now finally in collectors hands. I think Vader is going to be a long wait.

LAME-O! ;)

Well, that was early on. I think Sideshow is on more of a roll now. Showing off an unreleased figure for 2 SDCCs in a row feels like they're resting on their laurels.

Yeah, I'm not really expecting Vader until the end of Quarter 2 at the earliest. Would be nice if he shipped sooner though.

Same as MaulFan I expect late Q2/early Q3 for Vader to ship and I don't see how its a big deal if he is at SDCC twice. There will be stuff on display which has already been released (like the Stormtrooper I am sure) so that would be nothing new anyway.

I will say, regardless of my projections, I am as anxious for this figure as everyone else, BUT, a large part of that is for having a Vader as top notching looking as the prototype, so I will patiently wait as long as it takes for it to arrive so long as the delay is caused by efforts to turn out a better figure. I hated waiting for ROTS Obi-Wan but having the correct robe color and all was worth the extra wait.

I have Vader on order, but have you guys seen what Hurricane has been up to lately? With the details INSIDE the helmet??:horror I might have to pull the trigger on a Hurricane Vader.

And really, we've waited this long... what's a bit longer :huh :lol

Exactly, and not trying to start a debacle, but I do see some significant off points in the Medi helmet that really make that Vader look lackluster to me now, not even a scale thing just the figure by itself doesn't wow me as much, when I got it I was going from Hasbro to that so it was leaps and bounds, but particularly the profile, it's just off and the proto SSC helmet looks fantastic, I'll wait however long if it means getting one that turns out that nice.

Details is AMAZING!!

I'm getting one to give away for a birthday present actually. Still waiting for glenn to get back to me though.

Might just order 2 or 3 more, since it do take a while to get one done.

when SSC Vader ships,I can't wait for the Sideshow Vs. Medicom Vader war lol.

I am liking Hurricanes custom Vader more and more though..looks like the helmet is one of the best i have seen ever.

There shouldn't be a war. SS Vader should be better in every way. I mean if they can't top a figure that came out over 4 years ago then........

Lookin forward to it's release.

There still will be. Someone will prefer the rubber armor or some detail. Maybe not the overall look, but I'm sure in some fashion from clothes to armor materials, some debacle will break out at some point.

I just can't wait for photo time with a proper Vader. I had a lot of fun with Les' custom but I was also playing beat the clock to get it back to him and plus I treated it with great care whereas I can take my sweet time and be a bit more adventurous with my own SSC piece. I've gotten some nice stuff with the Medi Vader, but some angles where you see the off points, the shots just don't look good.

This is true. I can't believe that some people call the Sideshow trooper armor cheap when it's considerably harder and more durable while Medi's is pretty much made out of the same stuff Hasbro's was.

Nah buddy..just no..i have all three Hasbro,Sideshow and Medicom..Medicom is far far more better in quality plastics then Hasbro..hell..Hasblow had holes punched on the shoulder armor..and it did not look like armor..was not even shiney like Medicoms..do you own them? because..i don't freakin get where your coming from at all.

The SSC Vader looks pretty good and i will get it..though i wished more for a ESB version..i am still not sold on the helmet..almost looks like Vader out of the marvel comics in some pics lol.

another point, SSC Stormtrooper has some burrs on the ends of the armor pieces..depends on what you get though i guess..and i have i noticed very sloppy paint apps on it as well as paint marks in odd places of the armor..this is not mine i am going on about..just upon viewing pics and hearing from others.

Bottom line..i think the problem with both Vader and Stormtrooper from SSC is that they never went for the authentic non-symetrical helmet look..i mean hell my Gentle Giant Stormtrooper bust is perfect..why can't sideshow just scan the bloody thing and make a perfect trooper.

There's nothing wrong with discussing pros and cons of various companies' production materials, if it could stay civil, but it rarely does.

This from the Medicommunist. :lol Bro, you were defending Medicom's guns and pretty much, even the hardcore medicommies admit they're crappy. And yes, as a matter of fact, I own just about every trooper Medicom's released (skipped the Sergeant and Officer Clones). The armor feels IDENTICAL to the same quality of armor Hasbro used. Hell it's even a bit thinner than Hasbro's. Medicom's is no doubt molded better, trimmed and polished, which I would expect for a $180 figure, but nevertheless, it's still the same pliable PVC stuff.

Edit: Oh, and a little FYI, Hasbro's Stormtrooper didn't have holes punched in the armor for the shoulders. It was molded to the bicep armor and slipped up over the arm. And the Clonetrooper's were held on by Velcro. But then, you'd know this if you actually owned them like you claim.

I have a theory that SW fans are just angry perfectionists.

SOME of them. I could care less actually (I didn't even really care about all the discrepancies with the Utapau's bucket). Hasbro's was fantastic for what it was and really unbeatable for the price, Medicom's was unbeatable for the longest time in quality, but the price, size and overall fragility were it's main cons, and Sideshow's is as close to perfect as I care to get really. :lol Every time I have to refutz the armor after moving them around, I'm reminded of the 501st and how I always see them doing the same at Cons.
