Did Vader know Leia was his daughter? Because in ROTS everyone was surprised Padame had twins, how could he know?:confused:

Vader only knew in ROTJ when Luke was in a panic and thinking about Leia and everyone, he senses Luke's feelings for his friends and comes to learn Luke has a sister.

What I think is poingnant about that scene in ESB is that when Vader reaches out to Luke through the force it is Anakin Luke senses, not Vader.

Yeah. If the delay is for a reason great. Cause if the ball is dropped on Vader, it's about over i'm afraid. (at least for the casual SW collector)

Yeah, I'm sure that if there's even the slightest problem with Vader, every "casual collector" will cancel their Sideshow pre-orders, sell all their worldly belingings, kiss their loved ones goodbye, find a nice rock and wait for the second coming of christ. :rolleyes:

I find I feel more in that moment after the Prequels than I did before. The prequels establishing Anakin/Vader as a tormented soul really adds to that scene. Even though he's supposed getting Luke for the Emperor, it's more like he's trying to recover his family that he thought he'd lost forever and within there's a hope that Luke can "save" him and losing Luke when the Falcon goes into hyperspace is like a punch to the gut because his chance has been ripped away and he's still trapped in his iron lung.

Or a big disappointment that his son just blew his chance at overthrowing Palpatine and ruling the galaxy. I still think that in TESB, Vader's using Luke more as a tool, than having any real compassion or sense of loss for him.

I agree completely. I didn't see the "conflict" within Vader until RotJ. In Empire, Vader was simply following the creed of the Sith: Apprentice over-throws Master, rinse, repeat endlessly...

More bad attempts at comedy.

Read this board lately? The only praise's are the same old same old from the same old folks and you do not make up the fanbase sorry. A lot of people have had it.(mostly casuals barely hanging on) I remember when RS used to be jam packed. The excitement has twinkled out. (some of that is normal) and yes if vader is at least not as good a Medi Vader a 4-5 year old figure, i can see lots of people(not hardcore) dropping the line and bailing. I am rooting for SS, i want a great ANH Vader badly and i think we'll get it. But if the ball is dropped..................

I don't think it will kill SS but a nice % of their future sales could be in jeopardy

IMO

I would agree with you except for one thing. Piett fully expected Vader to kill him after the Falcon got away at the end of ESB. But Vader didn't kill him. He simply walked on. That in addition to the fact that when he called out to Luke, Luke recognized it as his father--not Vader.

I don't mind Vader being pushed back until 3 Q , it spreads the wealth a little
with the Utapau Clone this month , Toht and Carbo Han May, and ST Commander and Piett in June.

3 Q -July is the SDCC exclsusive along with Vader and the Sandtrooper sometime between July and September.

I think Vader was just as confused as he was when he was Anakin. Not trying to be funny, but Anakin had some serious issues which were only intensified when he became Vader. I think that he wanted to please the Emperor AND Luke at the same time. Vader/Anakin was also second fiddle to everyone, first Obi-Wan, in a weird way even to Tarkin, later Palpatine. I think this slowly ate him up, when he learned of a son, I think he finally saw a chance to be the big dog, not so much to be redeemed.

:bow :bow :bow to Vader whenever he throws the Emperor over the rail, it's my favorite part of all the movies combined. Right there at that point he becomes "DA MAN!!!"

tru stud :rock --> :emperor
