Yeah I would have liked to see something more along the lines of a primitive prototype.. but at the same time I can see why Lucas chose not to go that way (people wanted to see Darth Vader). Still, I agree. Dumb move on Lucas' part.

Because it looks/sounds much more advanced than the one he wears in the film that takes place 20 years later?

A lot of the prequels is like that. Its like between ROTS and ANH they got blasted back to the stone age :lol

Vader is still Vader.
Anakin's lightsaber is still Anakin's lightsaber.

Vader is still Vader but why would his suit look more advanced especially the under the helmet pieces than the OT? Why would Anakin's lightsaber and Obi-Wan's lightsabers in ROTS look so streamlined and glossy and thin only to reappear in ANH as clunky older looking pieces? Time wouldn't do that. Its like they were completely rebuilt. These are small things but they ARE things overlooked by Lucas and crew whether they bother you or not.

Of course, it's Vader's final appearance, he had to be the ultimate Vader.

I didn't find anything wrong with the look of Vader in ROTS... but at the same time he occupied so little time that its not a specific look I need in 1/6.

I will keep the ANH, definitely order a ROTJ... and will likely cave for an ESB, especially if he comes with a super cool exclusive.

I want the ESB not only to have the removable dome but to have an interchangable head that will feature a cracked faceplate with Luke's face underneath.

I love Star Wars as much as the next fanboy but Lucas has lost a bit of that 77 magic....no one can deny that.

Yeah, 'cause he's only had real dumb ideas, like this one about a kid who has to kill his father to save a galaxy...

That was 30 years ago, dude. It's been pretty much a gradient downhill slide ever since.

Not to be a repeative but I hope TESB Vader comes w/the holo platform. Or do I dare say.....his med-chamber....:horror. I am not going to guess on the cost....:monkey4:D

I kinda like the look of the RotS Vader.
No problem with Lucas changing things because he's got a bigger budget now and no time constraints.
The whole "He's raping my childhood" crowd comes off as "R"-tards.
Though he has made some changes I dont agree with:Bobas voice over change,Boba dying like a little beeotch
and screaming into the Sarlac pit,Solo shooting first,Chewies Tarzan yell in RotJ, Anakins "Yippie" and of course Vaders infamous"Noooooooooooo".
But for the most part, who should care?

If anything, it should have looked like a prototype (maybe like the McQuarrie designs) or at least much more like the ANH visage. They just dropped the ball terribly here, imho. It makes no sense from a visual continuity standpoint at all.

That said, I'll probably buy one if SSC makes it just to have one of each of the Vader representations (because they are all different). It just better come AFTER all of the OT ones.

ROTS was full of stuff like that. So much work to make some continuities line up, and then small ^^^^ happening. Vader's look being so much nicer, and if nothing else, his inner robe should have been over the chest armor like ANH, now it just makes you wonder why was he doing it in ANH but not before or after :banghead At least the new look you could write off as being battle worn, yadi yaid yada, but the overall look being done such that it makes the pre-existing look the fish out of water was stupid.

It also bugs me how different Anakin and Obi-Wan's sabers are from the EpIV hilts.

Oh well. I know ESB anniversary is next year, but I'd rather see ROTJ as the next Vader, providing it has the reveal. Anniversary of ESB and the non-reveal aspect of that helmet favors ESB next though.

I'd rather them do the ESB first. Let them get the dome removal right and look to scale and appropriate before tackling a reveal.

I think he worked better under budgetary and technological restraints.

That :lol and he allowed others to helm ESB and ROTJ. When you are too close to the project you can't see its flaws but as he was watching and producing and guiding ESB and ROTJ we got really great follow ups to his original stories. Directors have a tendancy to put their own stamps on projects and I still argue that if he had let different directors helm AOTC and ROTS we would have gotten better films.

If only David Lynch agreed to direct ROTJ or if Spielberg didn't get hung up by the DGA...

The OT would have been just that much better.

That's the only thing that makes me ok with ROTJ not being next, I do care that it comes out very nice.

That, and not having everyone involved be his ^^^^^ and not argue with him when they knew something wasn't right.
