Official Enterbay-Hot Toys Bruce Lee Line General Thread

Looks to me like Hot Toys wants to destroy Enterbay's Bruce Lee business. Enterbay kept teasing the BD GoD and ETD for a while. Then Hot Toys announces their DX EtD and then Arnie joins them. Enterbay then shows their proto. Then Enterbay shows their smiling sculpt and then Hot Toys shows theirs and announce they will relase not 1, but 2 more Bruces telling as that arnie will be working on them.

This is getting interesting.

Indeed seems a little coincidental.

Arnie put the pics up on his FB page yesterday, before today's announcement. Then, all of sudden after a new crop of E pics; BOOM, HT announce more BL.

PLUS, HT announce more figures before even the DX is out. That's a first unless I am mistaken. Seems rushed.

Like saying; 'hey, if you were thinking of getting the new E Bruce because you want a smiling one WAIT, as we will be selling one soon'.

Enterbay built their whole reputation from their Bruce Lee line, the popularity and craze for Bruce Lee collectibles was an untapped market for Hot Toys. All these years Hot Toys underwent revolutionary evolution in their production and licensing to undoubtedly become the BEST 1/6th company. Hot Toys sees how lucrative the Bruce Lee line is and have plunged into the scene which is great news for us BL fans, more competition benefits us cause...

My only question right now is, will Enterbay now try to rush their production? If Hot Toys announces a GoD before Enterbay release theirs, a lot of people will be willing to waitfor an arnie Bruce with Hot Toys quality.

You know what, those who are real fans of Enterbay's Lee's were actually fans of Arnie Kim, I think some will try to be loyal BUT there WILL be an exodus. HT's pricing also goes a LONG WAY to encourage that. Enterbay CANNOT afford to rush this GoD, a LOT of their reputation lies on it and they are putting a lot on the line for this release.



1.Arnie's leaving is a BIG BIG LOSS, Not even YJ with all his skill can change that...

2.They are gonna price this one REAL HIGH, so those who will end up buying will have quite huge expectations on Quality Control and stuff (something recent Enterbay releases have suffered)

3.A Full Rubber Body Bruce Lee is theoretically great but we all know the negatives a Rubber body brings, from maintenance to limited posabilty... not something people will accept on a massively expensive set

All these make Enterbay's job difficult and I wish them the best. However in all honesty, I await HT BL's more than EB's

Yeah, and that is the dilemma, will they rush and put it out so desperate people buy it before the Hot Toys one comes out? Will they try to offer more, focus on better quality and keep the high price or slim it down to price it lower?

It's a lot more possibilities and ultimately, they cannot ignore Hot Toys much longer. I used to prefer Enterbay because of their Bruce Lees. When Hot Toys announced theirs and showed the sculpt, I laughed thinking as to why they would even try to compete with Enterbay's superior sculpts and the ever improving Arnie Kim.

But man, it all turned around in an instant. Arnie is with Hot Toys and he was hired for the Reeves Supes (which I dont care at all for). But come on, Hot Toys must have asked him to give Yulli a hand. You havr the best Bruce sculptor in you ranks and you have a Bruce figure under development. I think it's just common sense what happens next.

So now, if Hot Toys announces a GoD before Enterbay releases theirs, I'll just wait. Dont care for a diorama or accessories, all I care about is for a great sculpt and great quality. Thats a sure thing with Hot Toys. The Enterbay figures I had, FoF and Kato, rival Hot Toys in quality.

I guess my decission will come down to which sculpt is better and if the figure justifies the price.

It's kinda a shame with what's happening with HT & EB, I hope this doesn't affect EB to much because if were honest HT has by far the bigger fan base. Practically all my 1/6 collection is HT except for my SW fig's but since I got into this hobby Ive always admired EB work, which led me on to getting there 1st BL 1/4 statue which I thought was awesome. I'm just hoping that with what's happening, that this is really going to push EB on to bettering there selves. There's so much potential in that company & it's healthy for HT to have a bit of compition to because right now HT are easily ruling the 1/6 world. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing how these BL figures turn out

This is good news for fans!. I don't need to keep looking for Enterbay super expensive figures no more!, this is so freaking cool!. I love Enterbay and their products, but I'm not rich either.

This is turning into a heated battle. I believe this is the first time I have seen this happen in the 1/6 scale world. Yesh there was the Medicom vs Hot Toys Batman movie figures, but this in another level.

One company shows something and the other quickly tries to shut it down. Right now, Hot Toys is in the lead in my opinion.

I VEHEMENTLY agree to the points you made specially the ones I bolded, Yulli + Arnie on 1 Bruce headsculpt! MAN ITS CRAZY to imagine that, I wish someone would confirm it to be true though

Also Arnie Kim's Bruce Lee sculpts have become better with each release and you are one of the few probably along with me who believe that Kato and FoF are the BEST Headsculpts in terms of likeness as well as paint

Enterbay and HT's last head to head on The Godfather showed why HT are regarded as the top most company in this field. I just hope this war doesnt make Enterbay lose a lot of business and then not be able to dream of projects in the large scale, already they have become very Asian market centric, dont seem to get the good lucrative licenses...

However Im glad HT bit into the Bruce Lee pie, it benefits us collectors in the end...

Like i mentioned earlier,this sculpt is a perfect presentation of that specific GOD smile,that "What you can do i can do better" arrogant attitude,i don't understand why people compare this one to the upcoming Arnie figure,which is Bruce Lee's natural smile and judging by the Hairstyle it's from Big Boss or Way of Dragon.

These 2 can't be compared.

If Hot Toys releases GoD, I wont have to worry. Hot Toys just announced they will relase 2 more this year. Of course we don't know yet what type of product it is, but for them to announce 2 more Bruce figures for one year and still have not yet released the first one, seems like they really want to take the Bruce business away from Enterbay.

Right now, the only thing that Enterbay has in its favor is the supposed seamless rubber body and maybe the diorama. But many collectors have already said in this very thread about their dislike for a full rubber body.

Well, this lil' board doesnt speak to the thousands of other fans of enterbay that will gobble a product up, regardless about what some thread on the internet says about rubber bodies.

I love HT, and will gobble up all Lee's made if nice. Same with Enterbay. All this elitist separation is hog wash.

I could care less who makes the sculpts either. Too much nut-ridin' of Arnie Kim, who is a very very talented guy. But that does not preclude some other sculptor from doing a great job. I think people get blinded, just go with the flow of saying everything Arnie makes is great just to...

I don't care who sculpts it, as long as its nice and on point.

If the Enterbay GoD is sold out quickly, I would not be surprised. There is people who will buy many units to resell them later because its a fact that 1/6 figures high in quality increse in value with time.

There is a member in this forum who bought 6 Berserker Preds. Not to resell them, but just to display them in different parts of his house and office. And the Berserker to me is not one of the most popular figures. Now imagine a Bruce Lee figure.

So for me, whether I pre-order the Enterbay figure or not will depend on the price and whether Hot Toys will do one or not.
