Sideshow Darth Maul Sixth Scale Figure

This is not my picture but i used to own the Medicom Maul before and that one IMO was sick. The eyes was very intense. If you stare at it you can really feel this figure is pretty pissed at you. This new SS Maul reminds me of it but it just lacks the sinister look it has to its eyes. I also owned the gentle giant maul bust and the expression on the face on that one was also really darn good

I think this one has it too, I can sense the fury in his eyes. Apart from the slightly long horns, the sculpt is excellent. Slight sneer on the top lip too

I agree tho. The sculpt on this one is way way better than their first maul. And i don't know if you guys agree with me but i think this face sculpt is better than the maul premium format too. I can see ray park in this one which i didn't in the PF. This one has better resemblance

The difference between the Medicom eyes and Sideshow is in the pupil size, Sideshow almost has none and Medicom's are quite bold.

I thought the PF had a very good likeness, loved that piece, wish I didn't have to sell it off, hoping the new one looks nice and I can budget it.

I do feel like the 2 Legendary Scale Maul pieces lacked Park likeness, which is a shame considering their price tag.

The paint left much room for improvement but I've always been impressed with the Park likeness in Hasbro's first 12" Maul, especially in profile.

Medicom has some nice attributes but something always felt awkwardly skinny to me at some angles, it wasn't perfect Park but the paint made it a badass Maul.

Sideshow's eyes look like these shots.

I consider this to be what Maul's tats are meant to look like.

It's also how his horns should be, for some reason they didn't always put them on in the same locations.

No big deal in distant shots but there's something about how he looks when they're in the right places that makes it bother me seeing them in the wrong ones.

Looks good. But outfit's material seems stiff and slightly tapered. It should be looser IMO.

If SSC can step up their final production paint game, i'd have no problem supporting them instead of HT. But, they aint there. Their prices are, but not final product

I think HT have better QC since they are HK based companies and can send their guys to China to check the production while SS can't since they are based in the US.

To me, that is the single best moment of the PT.

The aura and mystique of Maul. He knew he was better than the jedi...and he had it in the bag for a moment.

This figure, with the longer horns, I think looks fabulous without the hood though and a lot of times the hood doesn't translate well to figures. I think the rest of the clothes look perfect, but I see traces of dust already in thiese pictures and he's even in a glass display. I wonder how long those layers of his will stay clean looking on the final product.

Didn't Hot Toys announce that they're only making figures from the original trilogy so no prequel figures?

Pretty sure they did in one of those Q&As. They are going to focus on OT even though they have the entire license.

I wouldn't wait for HT to do anything prequel related... Won't be anytime soon. I doubt HT could improve much on that Maul anyway.

Medicom's tailoring on their robe was perfect, the fabric they used was strange though.
