This piece looks very cool indeed. Have the other Vader and gonna get this one for sure.

I think the reason the base lights up red is that it"s the Imperial symbol which I believe is always red. Hopefully the slight bagginess of the under suit will not show up in the Production piece.

IMO: if Sideshow wants to raise their prices, they had better find much better manufacturing facilities. Personally I have no desire to buy any Human figures from Sideshow anymore.

They said the sculpt is actually based on Ryan Flattemwagen the stand in who sat in the ESB meditation chamber as the helmet was lowered onto his head.

$250 feels a bit steep for this. I like it but not sure it's a purchase just yet. One thing is for sure if this is a newer plateau for 1:6 figures from SSC and not an exception for the "deluxe" of it, they are pricing me out quickly. HT has already done it.

I am pretty sure we get the a) The Full Helmet b) Neck Piece and Shaw Sculpt and C) Face Mask and Dome.

Agreed, I think that's what were getting and seems to be what Sideshow said back in July.

I'll save my judgment on price point until after we know what comes with the figure. Either way I'm in 100% on this figure. Whether or not it is a good deal remains to be seen.

Hmmm ANH Vader was released back in July 2009.

that this Vader will be released 1st Q '14. (Maybe March '14)

If this is right 4 1/2 year gap between these two.

However some other figs (I believe) took year from the PO date.


Anyways I am very excited for this. Hopefully my comp won't crash when I'm trying the PO this Thursday....

Sideshow is out of their effing minds! I thought $200 was pushing it but $250 is outrageous. They are nowhere near Hot Toys quality. The only improvements to the ANH version is the light up chest and belt and removeable helmet. The base is meh. Not even a light up saber for this ridiculous price? Ultimate Vader my ***. And the NRD forget it. I'm not letting Sideshow hold my hard earned cash for this. This is the straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm officially priced out.

Yep, not thrilled with the price... but it's a great looking figure. And honestly I've got close to $200 invested in my ANH Vader (retail of $120 plus body mod and Meis tunic and cape set), so as long as this one comes out swinging it won't be too bad.

Hey guys, will this come with interchangeable bodysuits? Not sure if someone had noticed before, but I see differences between some photos. Some pics seem to have stitched pipings/pinstripes on the suit, while some appear to have them hot-pressed.
