Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

0:52 shows the helmet on final product is definitely distorted...

Tbh it looks a LOT like Medicom helmet mold on a SSC trooper. :/

We are definitely not getting this. The helmet I see looks asymmetrical were as the SDCC and video look symmetrical.

Nice pics man, thanks for posting. I think he looks great, the armor looks very sharp.
:clap

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

I thought the helmet thing on UPSman's figure, might've just been down to a little lens distortion in those pics. :huh

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Nice pics UPSman. :duff

The new phase II helmet is definitely an improvement over the older sculpt.

Btw.. you've got the bicep armour on both arms, back to front. :lol

:lol Oooops Nice eye, I didn't catch that. It came like that, I guess I just opened him gave him a quick simple pose and took a pic without realizing it was backwards . Thanks :D
Very nice pics UPSMAN! Looking awesome!

:duff Thanks Bud

thanks Rory :hi5: Indeed looks sharp.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Well, to be honest he does look a bit better in hand versus what you see in the pics. Nonetheless, I'm not the best picture taker. The armor looks great to me and you get lots of accessories . Now for the helmet, I do think it comes down to lens distortion and the angle I took it. As far as QC issues, I got a small scuff on his right cheek tube on phase II helmet.
I will try to find time to post pics with phase I helmet for some of you that requested it.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Make sure ya take pics of phase 2 helmet. I need confirmation the chinese didnt **** up something so simple.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Hmmm..
Just got him. Firstly just to mention (as it may colour my review slightly) I had a very bad QC issue with another SS product over the weekend, which has made me look at this with a critical eye.

He looks great overall. The Phase II bucket is nice and sharp, I can see they have gone to some effort in the construction of the helmet. The strip and eyepiece are separate elements inlaid into the base, which gives it a nice sharp unmolded look. Paint is quite sloppy in places, especially on the Phase I bucket, which is what I'm most disappointed with. It's all scuffy, with some sloppy Hasbro paint work. Just a bit cheap looking overall IMO. The body armour and guns are nice. He is nice and sturdy except for the wrist joints (the actual arm not the pegs) which are cheap and not glued properly, the seams are not solid.

I will leave the helmet overall structure analysis to you guys, in regard to width and depth. There is no lens distortion to speak of on these pics.
Not sure whether I'm gonna keep my order for the veteran or not. This is good just a bit sloppy. They really need to up their QC before Grievous arrives..

EDIT: I have decided to look for a replacement Phase I Helmet. It's really not good enough.

:(

Contacted SS, lets see what they come back with.
I've been messing around with him (whilst supposed to be working) possibility is good, tried out the old Koto pose roughly.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Nice looking clone figure - too bad about the sloppy paint Rory. The helmets look fine to me, shape / sculpt wise.

I'm contemplating the 501st Veteran set.

We'll see..

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Very nice pics Rory, I messaged them for a replacement too for the phase I helmet. Same issue as you, with fingerprints, bubble paint and what not.

**** that's worrying then, perhaps they are all the same. :(

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Oh hell no... A clone for $150 is not worth a sloppy paint job... The Phase 2 Bucket however is f'n spot on! Good to see it's accurate. Bought once have some monies.
