Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

well sure, But in this age of remakes and reboots, Would it really hurt to remake the beginning of this saga? I mean, the fans of the original 3 episodes would still have those movies, And the rest of the world could have 3 episodes to be as fans, proud of liking.

I mean, yeah they could make 7 8 and 9, But wouldn't it be better to also fix the beginning as well?

While I would agree on the surface, logic dictates that doing so would bring the inevitable remaking or rebooting of the Original Trilogy closer to reality. Something I dont ever want to see.

I don't think Disney's gonna waste time and money redoing the prequels. Especially when there's more $$$ to be had in doing the continuation and solo projects.

Exactly. There's really no point.

The only time they'll revisit these is when they remaster them, years from now, in Ultra-Epic-Jigga-Vision 4D.

He looks good- he needs to dye his hair brown(with some grey) for Han...he'd look so much better and.... iconic

i think a few brown hairs among the grey would work, im interested in how they are going to handle his outfit though..

Nope. keep moving forward. Make it into as MASSIVE a saga as the EU is by focusin on WHERE the story is. WHAT it is doing! not Looking away. to the past.
What has come before. carry it with you. Good, and Bad. Take it.. Learn from it. Watch it grow into something new.
Disney, Mind what you have Learned. Save you it can!

but..... what if...... they were worse?

I don't think Episodes 7-9 could possibly be worse so I don't think remakes of I-III would be either. But if they were somehow worse - remarkable achievement, worthy of recognition in the archives of the Jedi Order.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

They can't remake Ep1-3. If any improvement were to be done it would have to be a rewrite.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Remake (ie same story with different actors) =/= Rewrite (complete different story with different actors).

Remake (ie same story with different actors) =/= Rewrite (complete different story with different actors).

A remake is simply a new version of an old movie. It can be a shot by shot remake or only very loosely based. It can use the same actors or new ones.

They can "remake" the PT with Anthony Daniels and Ian McDiarmid playing their same characters but have everything else change.
