Probably because the character needed to do more than spout exposition and a fish puppet is limited. Also, Poe going against Ackbar is less believable than an unfamiliar, possibly shady character.

As for the sheer level of melodrama being manufactured by many who disliked this film, freaking priceless.

Remind, me which side has been claiming since yesterday that Russian trolls/hackers are responsible for the negative audience reviews? Which side has been posting articles like "Toxic Masculinity Is the True Villain of Star Wars"?

Besides, you, Darth Snoopy, Pixletwin, and others keep belittling critics on a personal level, whereas the detractors are overwhelmingly focused the perceived flaws or relative quality of the film.

You've made some good faith attempts to engage the criticisms, but the others mostly not.

Funny thing, one of my friends had the good point that in ROTJ Ackbar wasn't that great. He sort of relied on Lando for everything. Lando was the strategy guy when it all went to ***t. This could have been a great chance for Ackbar to actually do something.

Though Holdo wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other stuff.

Although I still have no idea why she continued the Maverick/Kelly Mc Gillis exchange with Poe instead of just telling him she had a viable plan.

Also we will never know why back in the 70s and 80s why there weren't dozens of rebel ships ready to hyper space right through death stars and star destroyers.

TLJ is the BvS of the Disney Empire! I love it!
Yeah i know this will make more money but the angry haters of it are really going over the top on their outrage

I myself enjoyed the differences- it is NOT the connect the dots stuff everyone thought Disney would rubber stamp. I say hooray!

I agree about Holdo.

TFA/TLJ really shouldn’t even had Holdo, Snoke, Rey, Kylo, Poe, Finn, Rose, Phasma, Hux or stuttering Sicario in them.

TFA/TLJ should’ve only had Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, Lando, R2, 3PO, Wedge, Mothma, Ackbar, Palpatine ghost, Obi Wan ghost, Yoda ghost, Vader ghost and flash backs to all the Empire generals and Tarkin and the movie should’ve ended with a showdown between Vader ghost, Palpatine ghost and Luke.

It's 2017, though I think TLJ could have redeemed itself had Rey joined ren. They could have had their own sitcom, the ren and stimp.....er....rey show. At least that could have been a cliffhanger.
