Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

i saw the movie today. the avengers rock..no way will batman will compete with this..i also had to deal with a numb skull who apparently doesn't know how to read and hear and kept checking his phone and getting up to answer the phone. movie rocked.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

There was a great big ****head who got stuck next to me (sold out show) and HE ****KING TEXTED ON HIS BRIGHTER THAN **** IPHONE FOR THE ENTIRE MOVIE. WHEREVER YOU ARE, BURN IN HELL !

I just had to get that out.

Man, I wouldn´t have taken that.
Sorry for that, Kamandi.
Greatest movie ever and you have to endure **** like that.

I would´ve said: "Dude, wtf?! You here to watch the movie, or text the whole time. Could you pls halt a little on that, the light annoys me."

No reaction, less pleasant...simple.

I had another, majorly more d***headed situation watching Hancock several years ago:

Several children, about 13-16 years old, right beside me ALL THE TIME making noises, laughing, wildly through the whole movie and the loudest **** changes seats to the one beside me half an hour before the film ends and he continues being loud, moving and tackeling me.

I was like:"Dude...relax, or I´ll make you."
He:"Wtf, am I not aloud to say something?!"
I:"One more word and you´re off into the picture, I swear to god. You and your ****** up friends screamed, talked and whatever through the whole movie...skip it for the rest or something happens."
*Silence*

:lol

My girl right beside me was ashamed of me, because no one else had the guts to say something, but I did. Guess she wouldn´t have said anything too.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I didn't catch it the first time, but there was a moment in the film when Stark and Coulson walk through the door in mid-conversation and Stark seems to be offering to fly the cello player girlfriend out from Portland to see him to help keep the relationship going. Just a nice tiny little thing to show that Stark cared about the guy and was bonding with him.

After Thor pledged Coulson that he would be his ally in Thor, it really sucked to see him stuck behind glass helplessly watching him die.

The economy of writing is just as impressive in this as the special effects. Character and humor even in exposition. Ugh...why am I not watching this again right now.

"He's my brother."
"He's responsible for about 80 deaths."
"He is adopted."

:lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Just watched it for the third time, and I can't help but notice the waitress that's taking the center stage during the beginning of the ending scene, middle of the fighting scene where the chitaury were rounding the hostages up, and the ending civilian tv interview, when she gave the last thank you speech. I was wondering if there's any special reason that the director kept on focusing on her?

That felt quite 'out of place' to me lol

Same thing my best friend and I thought about when we left the cinema...

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I'm assuming she's an upcoming actress that need the face time for the public to get to know her. :lol

She's just there to put a face on the innocent bystanders.

My wife kind of ruined that last moment by explaining to me that she was the little sister from Growing Pains. :lol

:lol

Serious?! What about...

a new Character for Steve to connect with. Wasn't there something in the Comics?!

I think that could be the case as well. As it wasn't a coincidence that the camera kept on focusing on her when Cap was in action during the rounding up the hostage/ bomb situation. And the fact that she mention cap's name at the beginning of the interview. That said, I think they should increase their budget a bit more, and get a cuter actress to play the love interest of cap

Yeah, more responsible looking.
Who's that actress from that Movie with Ben Stiller, where Jerry Stiller plays along too.
In that Ben has problems connecting then he finds that girl...marries her and in honeymoon she's revealed to be totally horrible.

Know which One I mean?!?!
:lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Oh, and then after the scene where the Helicarrier lifts out of the water he asks out loud "Was that really necessary?"

I'm wondering "Why are you even here?"

So why are people watching more movies at home instead of the theatre? This guy.

I hate to hear this. The texting especially. I paid $23 for a ticket to the Director's Suite at Warren theater partly because of this reason. If you text or talk on the phone during the movie and they throw you out. And at 23 bucks a ticket I figured everybody in there was there to watch the film. Best movie experience of my life and where I will be going for all movies like The Avengers.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

$14.50 at the AMC IMAX. Pack 'em, stack 'em and rack 'em. They don't really care about the audience experience.

"Hey, teenage popcorn guy! They're an impossibly big dude on his big-screen-brighter-than-the-*******-sun smart phone. Earn your minimum wage and throw him out!"

I'm sure that would have gotten a pro-active response.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Most theater staff don't care anymore. You'd think for $14.50 a ticket at the IMAX that people wouldn't be like that guy.

If anybody is anywhere near a Warren theater in Kansas or Oklahoma, it's well worth the drive for the Balcony or Director's Suite.

My next viewing of The Avengers will be at the IMAX in 3D. Hope it's as good as the 2D showing.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

There is one theater in my neck of the woods/universe that still has ushers actually walk around during movies to check

pretty rare.

Most of the time, I will politely ask the guy to turn his FRAKING phone off!! But nice-like......it works

Why do ********* think its cool to text in a dark loud room with people in it. I dont get that logic.

Seeing this at 8:30.:panic:
