Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I'm sure it will easily take the record on a nominal basis

Inflation adjusted numbers would be interesting to look at

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Just came back from the theatre.

My mum, dad, kid sister & girlfriend all loved the movie!!!

I am planning to watch it again in 3D this time.

The LOTR trilogy movies were once my all time favourite movies, The Avengers just tops them all now.

Just a quick question, did any of them shouted "Avengers Assemble!"??? I think I might have missed it.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Watched it in 3D the opening night, now will again see it in 2D
some of the action was too fast to keep up with 3D

IM was awesome!
Hulk was done perfect this time!

Who is going to make MK 7 statue for us now?

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

$14.50 at the AMC IMAX. Pack 'em, stack 'em and rack 'em. They don't really care about the audience experience.

"Hey, teenage popcorn guy! They're an impossibly big dude on his big-screen-brighter-than-the-*******-sun smart phone. Earn your minimum wage and throw him out!"

I'm sure that would have gotten a pro-active response.

Uh....yeah, you do know that most people don't listen to people who work at the theater, right?

They can't do anything. They can tell them to leave...but that's it. The person could just sit there and do what he wants. And if the attendant touched him or her, they could sue.

Welcome to America! :gah:

That's why most theaters pay off duty cops to help out so they can physically remove them if needed.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

watched the movie yesterday, really made watching the crapfests that were thor and CA worth it.

this also shows where marvel was putting all their big guns, Joss did an amazing job with the script!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I think Hollywood has overdone the "ground collapsing as everyone runs away" scene. Looked cool but we've seen it a few times now. Next!

Fury's script was pretty silly in a few areas. I think Samuel Jackson is overrated and used way too much.

Would have loved to have seen Giant Man but then again he'd have a silly "movie costume" so maybe it's just as well.

Did the Black Widow use her "widow sting"? I saw her put her bracelets on but missed it if she used them.

The shot where she's using her pistols against the aliens was pretty silly and enough of this jumping or falling to catch a ride on a fast moving vehicle. I know it's comics but WTF?

Still, I think the Black Widow and her scenes were the best surprise of the film. Didn't she have some cell phone nudes leaked? Off for a look...

Saw the earliest show this morning with my twin brother and it was sold out.
Great movie, don't know why there's so much hate for it.
On our way out there were huge lines waiting for other showings to start and we heard the next 6 showings were all sold out.
It's been a while since I've seen lines this long for any movie.
All I have to say is sit thru ALL the credits,to see the extra scenes!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I paid $23 for a ticket to the Director's Suite at Warren theater partly because of this reason.

$14.50 at the AMC IMAX.

Damn, I'm paying $5 for 2D ($8 for 3D). M-Th anytime showing.

The LOTR trilogy movies were once my all time favourite movies, The Avengers just tops them all now.

Sshhh! Don't you know The Josh is on this thread. :lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Pretty much. :lol

It's a small theater. One story, two sides, 12 auditoriums.

Finally got to see it, loved every second of it. Probably going to watch it again next week. :clap:clap:clap:clap

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Loved this movie, but there were kids/babies in the theater crying and talking loudly throughout the movie while their parents just ignored them.Anyone else have this experience?

I went to a 10PM showing, so the mewling crotchfruit was at a minimum.

Matinees and early shows will always be infested with breeders and their vile offspring! :lol

But superhero flicks are for kids, so hey . . . :wink1:
