"co-stars Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo are said to receive only about $2 or $3 million"
Pretty ridiculous considering that the guys from Friends made, I think, $1 million per episode years ago. BUT, a contract is a contract, and none of those guys are gonna be sleeping under bridges exactly after that payday.

Yeah, that's probably true. But look what it's up against. Not a fair comparison with so many great posters out there.

Those are bland...but honestly, better then the Avengers poster. It's minimalistic, but it all flows.

The Avengers one just feels random. Like a fan poster. They just throw a bunch of people all over the place and crop them into a background, and then add a bunch of crap and sparks to make it pop.

See here.

I'm guilty of it too. Which is why I'm not a graphic designer. :lol

Poses on that DVD (and even the fan version you post) seem less forced and artificial than the ones they actually made in those two scenes toward the end of the movie.

But yeah, I agree that the DVD cover sucks.

RDJ is the glue. None of this would've worked with out him and Jon.

He's the only reason I bought a ticket. I dislike Evans as Cap and going into it, didn't like Norton being replaced. That went ok enough but I still hate Evans. Wouldn't pay to see an Iron Man or Avengers without RDJ that I can assure you, so when it comes time to renew, Marvel better be ready to fork over a fortune to the man.

:lecture:goodpost:

It is all about RDJ! He was the shinning light for me. I find Cap, Thor, BW & Hawkeye dull if I am being honest.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Money WILL NOT be the determining factor for RDJ, it'll be whether or not the studio pisses him off. His contract has that stipulation of 5-7% and no matter his paycheck he gets a huge check after everything has been said or done.

Kevin Feige pisses him off then he'll walk and Feige seems to be toying with the idea of it. If they try to cut his base salary because of his contract or if they try to force him to do a film when he isn't available, he'll walk and Feige seems fine with it.

Just as hideous.

That really is one of the worst looking posters of all time. I mean, really.

As lame as that is, it's still more imaginative than the TDK composite TDKR poster. Swing over to that thread and check out Carl's post. :lol

This would be stupid. They'd pretty much castrate Iron Man.

I love RDJ as Stark. He fits like a glove and I'm not interested in seeing him be recasted whatsoever (the horror.....), but the other actors deserve credit too.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston rock just as much as RDJ as far as I'm concerned, and Chris Evans made me a Captain America fan even though I didn't think I would become one. I thought ScarJo did great with the better material in Avengers, and Hawkeye was shortchanged out of the main six, but Jeremy Renner was solid and made me want to see more of the character.

RDJ is awesome, but he's not the only awesome one in my eyes.

That said, Feige would be absolutely idiotic to make RJD walk.

Marvel's strategy is to lock the talent into a contract for multiple films in advance. Anybody who causes friction or asks for more money gets replaced.

RDJ should be pleased with his $50 million payday, and I think that if he's smart, he will sign up for as many more as he can after his contract is done following IM3.

Evans does the best with what he's given. In terms of personality and mannerisms, I don't we could have gotten a better (young-ish) Steve Rogers.

Let's not all forget Evan's pedigree prior to the last couple years. He did mostly comedic roles. As Cap he played it completely straight. Did anyone think "hey, that's Johnny Storm" while watching TFA or The Avengers? I didn't.

I did. :wave But in all fairness, unmasked was better than masked. :monkey1 :lol

Same, Captain America was probably the least interesting super hero to me..now he's in my top five favorites.

That stupid helmet. Some people were saying it looked less terrible in the movie, they're wrong.

Big bowl of this, I always envisioned cap similarly to his portrayal in Ultimate Alliance, a bit older, wider jaw, and better helmet. God he looks like a 7 year old that got into daddy's movie wardrobe there.
