Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Ultimately Mike is right though, over saturated.

But I love it :rock

At least with Marvel's "saturation" this summer (obviously ignoring DC, etc's offerings), the quality was high. Which makes the glut of Marvel movies this summer even more impressive. There were a lot of them and they were great.

Even more impressive is that none of the three were a "comic movie by the numbers" deal, they were all quite different in style and tone.

From Superherohype.com...

Possible spoilers...

Arguably the cinematic face of the Marvel Universe, Clark Gregg turned a small appearance as Agent Coulson in the first Iron Man film into the glue to that holds the multi-film series together.CraveOnline had a chance to speak with Gregg about the role and how it has grown from more or less a cameo into something beyond his wildest dreams. In the excerpt below, Gregg discusses what it has all been building to: next summer's The Avengers and then, after that, a possible return for Iron Man 3.
CraveOnline: Do we get to see another side to your character in The Avengers? Do you get to take down a Skrull armada single-handed or something? Clark Gregg: That’s it! I’m taking down the Skrull armada single-handed!

CraveOnline: Oh, that’s awesome. Gregg: I’m just kidding. “Skrull armada single-handed…” No, they’re Kree! No, I’m just kidding. Yes, there’s definitely new stuff. Much different, new stuff for Agent Coulson to do in this one. You know, it’s kind of “all hands on deck” in terms of combating the threat that has shown up. And Joss… Joss is a master at taking what we know about each one of these characters, the superheroes and Agent Coulson, and building on what’s already there.

CraveOnline: Joss Whedon is also a master of killing off beloved characters. I’m actually a little worried about you. Gregg: Yeah, I’ve read this! I’ve read this. I’m flattered that people care, but I wish they would stop saying this because they’re going to put it in somebody’s mind! I’m talking to them about doing "IronMan 3" right now, and somebody’s going “Maybe Agent Coulson should die,” and I’m like, “Hey, hey, hey! This is the best job I’ve ever had! Stop talking about killing Agent Coulson off.”

Check out the full interview over at CraveOnline.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I'm confused...I dont see any spoilers...

That's why I said possible spoilers...some people haven't been keeping up with current events in this thread and may not know about the rumored baddies and I didn't want them complaining that I should have used spoiler tags. :D

The funny part was that the second intothevoid called me out on it, not a minute later Ink was there defending his Avatar turf :lol that was some funny ____! No really, it was, true story :lol

Oh, BTW, I'm Captain Buy, nice to meet you :hi5:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

in that perspective loki and thor look like real gods.. camera distortion does wonders.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I still find it a little hard to believe that The Avengers captured Loki...he doesn't seem like he would get captured; and if he did, Thor would just bring him to Odin.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Not sure I like how the mask goes with the suit, it most likely will look better on film, but the WWII mask and suit I liked straight away.
I think the mask is the problem, it does make the top of his head look eggish

I'm sure Loki allowed himself to be captured.
