Lol I?m sorry but I honestly believe the Snyder cut of JL won?t save the movie or make it better.

This.

JL was just bad. No amount of editing can save us from the terrible CGI nonsense at the end or the cringe worthy Aquaman.

On another note. Really interesting to look at the images posted for what Dano?s Riddler MIGHT look like. They basically pasted his head on to ever green suited , cane wielding lame *** Riddler we have already seen.

It shows how lame DC fans have become and how the studios cannot seem to break away from the cartoon/comic aspects to give us something new.

Thankfully the new film seem to be breaking away from the fans need for a Schumacher mask, bright colors and tights.

Gordon was white in Whedon JL and he absolutely did nothing and sucked lol

Yes, he was much worse than the Gordon that Snyder gave us in BvS. Oh wait...

Oh I agree. And I?m totally fine with that. It just seems once they make changes like this, going back to their original looks is harder and suddenly racist in this day and age. There?s plenty of room for multiple interpretations of the characters.

The less said about Whedon?s JL the better but I really did like JK?s look. He?s the closest we?ve ever got to a classic comic Gordon. Glorified cameo at best. I think he, and everyone else, was hoping it was a foot in the door for this movie when it was still Snyderverse attached.

Agreed, not even as substantial a role as his JJJ appearance at the end of Spidey FFH, but given the WB suits were dictating that the movie had to be no more than 2 hours that's understandable. But do we know when he was cast? Was ZS already gone & Whedon brought him on, or was he there from the start? If so, perhaps he'll have more screen time in the 4 hour mini-series.

That’s right I forgot that he was in BvS as well my bad lol

He sucked twice lol

It looks like Batman Begins shot on a CW budget. How is it a different take? At what point was there anything resembling an original idea in this trailer?

Batman shows up in an underlit scene in a goofy rubber suit and beats the **** out of a bad guy and then growls a one-liner in a gravelly voice? Pretty sure I saw that in 1989, 2005, 2016, etc.

I haven't watched any of the CW, so I've no idea what you're talking about regarding production values, but I've seen a lot of people are comparing this to a Netflix production... personally, I think it looks fine so far, and Matt Reeves' films have looked pretty good, so I'm not worried about production values.

As for "original ideas", well, I don't recall Batman being consulted openly by Gordon in front of his police force like that before, so that gave a very different vibe. Of course, maybe I've forgotten what goes on in earlier movies... haven't seen them in a while. Also, the "cobbled together" look of the suit is new for me. So far Batman has always had pretty high tech looking suits (except for Batfleck's first suit, then again, he probably could've shown up in his pijamas and still look intimidating).

At any rate, what "original ideas" are you looking for? It's Batman... "underlit in a goofy rubber suit", "beating the **** out of a bad guy" and "growling a one-liner" come with the territory. In the end all rubber suits are inherently goofy. It all depends on how it's shot and (under)lit.

IMHO, with Batman (as well as most comic book heroes), it's all about the nuances and the different aspects of the hero that you want to emphasise. Usually, with the first iteration, you get the "essential" hero, like Christopher Reeve's Superman, or Chris Evans' Captain America, or, to a lesser degree (IMHO) Keaton's Batman. So with Batman we've had more versions than than any other A-list hero in large, tent-pole blockbusters, so it's all about exploring different angles of the same character. Christian Bale was new because we saw the whole origins thing and it grew in a more "grounded" universe. Ben Affleck was new because we had never seen the old, cynic Batman who is little more than a vigilante. Now it seems we'll be getting a young(er) Batman who is working openly with the police, but doesn't seem to have polished his act to perfection yet.

So yeah, to me that's new and different, but to each their own.

It is pretty wild that they released a trailer with only 25% of the movie filmed.

Smart marketing move if they can build on the initial buzz. We?re all pretty interested to excited here; nothing wrong with a little cleavage to raise an eyebrow.

The crazy part is let’s say that this movie turns out to be much better than any Batman movie that Affleck is in that still doesn’t mean that Pattinson Hot Toys will look as good as Affleck HT Batman lol

It’s a toss up which I hate more the Pattinson costume or TDK costume.

I think I hate the TDK more that thing has not held up well at all.

I recently re-watched the Nolan films and they hold up better than I thought, but I really don't like Tacti-cool Bats. TDK costume does nothing for me.

Costumes for me.

I’m not including JL because I don’t count Josstice League a legit movie of the JL BUT i’m not a fan of the tech suit costume anyways.

1. BvS/SS
2. 89
3. BB
4. BR
5. BF (Panther)
6. TBM
7. TDK/TDKR

I won’t even entertain B&R costume lol

TBM might climb up depending what else they are hiding.

This looks awesome, I loved the trailer.

Right away it feels like some thriller from the 90s in the vein of Seven, Natural Born Killers, Silence of the Lambs, etc. It's like that scrapped David Fincher Batman: Year One movie that never got made. The fact that Nirvana - Something in the Way is playing really makes it evident that this could have been a Batflick from the 90s/early 2000s, and I love that. I wish people would realize by now that it doesn't matter what actor is playing Batman. It's all the same ****. With the tone and feel of the trailer, this could have easily come out in 1999 with a pre-American Psycho Christian Bale and it'd play out the same way. Keaton, Bale, Affleck, Pattison, it doesn't ****ing matter. We go for Batman.

Annnnd Batman looks great to me. The opening shot at the crime scene with him walking behind Gordon as the cops look at him in disbelief is cool. It's like a scene taken out of the comics or the 60s Adam West show where he's investigating the scene at the start of the story. Riddler looks and sounds cool, Penguin looks and sounds cool (can't even tell that's Colin Farrell under those prosthetics) and Batman sounds and looks cool. Every shot of him fighting, grappling and just standing there looks terrific and I loved the "I am Vengeance" line after he beats that thug to a pulp. He finally doesn't sound like a ****** anymore.

I see people are trying to meme "emo Batman" but I'm not really sure why. Live action Batman has always been emo and putting on eye make up. :lol That started all the way back in 1989 with Keaton and Burton (the ****ing KING of all that goth and emo ****) and has been consistent with EVERY live action incarnation of the character since. I think it's cool that they're FINALLY showing him wear the eye make up instead of it disappearing like it does in the Burton and Nolan movies. Just makes Batman seem even more unhinged.

Honestly, only thing I didn't like was Catwoman. She looks even lamer than the Anne Hathaway version. The mask looks goofy. Other than that, what's not to like? Those shots of Batman fighting cops in the cage, taking a bullet to the suit, grappling up the stair well while Penguin is like "this guy is crazy" seems exciting. Certainly a step up from the last time we saw Batman on screen*. :lol

*fighting in a CGI wonderland against aliens along with Super Friends. Looks like we're FINALLY getting a Batman film where the stakes are a lot smaller and more personal. No city destroying bombs, no alien invasions, no BS. Fingers crossed this is actually a pulp detective story like it's being advertised as in this trailer.
