Yes. if you want a 2D showing, wait for the Blu Ray, get an HDTV, and put on the smooth motion setting. There you go. Looks exactly like that.

I'm glad I read this post.

If that is what 48fps HFR looks like, I'm not going anywhere near it.

I absolutely ****ing hate that setting on my television. It makes big budget films look like they were made on a television budget using a video camera.

I have no problem with digital as long as i feel like i am watching a big budget film. Not a television program.

Sweet av & sig there buddy.:yess:

Thanks bud!! :duff
Not entirely happy with the sig yet, but I'm working on it.

As to the whole HFR thing; I just came back from seeing the film and the HFR effect wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It was just a matter of getting used to in my case.

Granted, some stuff looked horrible. The walking in the hallway, or a close-up of Bilbo getting some stuff from a chest. It went way too fast. The brightness, took a bit away from the suspense. And the gloominess that some scenes required just wasn't there.
Overall though, I didn't hate it as much as I feared I would and it didn't distract me too much either. The wide exterior shots, and the battlescenes looked absolutely amazing in HFR. At points I felt like it was actually playing out live in front of me.

So while I'm saying it isn't the best thing ever, (and I certainly hope it won't be a standard format), it isn't nearly as bad as people and articles make it out to be.

Are you suggesting Josh has special eyes? Like the kind of eyes that see everything rose colored and wonderful and nothing is ever wrong with anything? What brand of eyes are those?

Did that win any awards? If not, it should have. That's gotta be the best makeup I've ever seen in a movie.
