If I lived in the US returning it might be an option, but seeing as I am in sunny Australia it means that a return would cost sideshow serious coin to post back which means I could have to destroy it which is a total waste. I would have to pay $300 duty again too.
Sideshow in all likelihood might offer me a discount but I don't see the flaws as being critical enough to whinge about. Sideshows service department is fantastic. They have helped me out heaps of times with spare parts and replacements for PF's that have arrived broken and the 1 PF I managed to break myself :duh.
The main problem I have with this piece is the paint on the ankle. It is not visible unless you get down to foot height and look up under the armor. I will touch it up. It's no problem it is not like it is in the middle of the chest. All the rest of the issues to me are standard collecting flaws. Face it your nose isn't going to be pressed up against this thing all day looking for ____ to pick.
So I didn't get a flawless piece. Averone did by the looks of it and gave a great review and great pics. Hopefully some more reviews come in and mine ends up being the worst of the bunch cos I can suck it up and live with it. And if I can't it's nothing beer cant fix :D

I wish I could have your attitude about a $2,000 item. I understand it makes it difficult because you are in Australia. I guess if the main issue is with the foot, you can touch it up yourself and it'll be fine as a display piece. With me though, I focus too much on the little details that my gaze would go towards the ankle every-time I look at the piece. But oh well, good luck and I hope others don't have as many issues as yours did.

I liked your review. Satisfaction is a mix of expectations and what you're able to live with. People have will be more critical of this piece because they expect quality for 2k and at $2,900? or so to aus means you gotta take that all into consideration as well. If people are picky for quality on a 200$ piece they may magnify that by tenfold for this one, especially if they are really critical and like to pick and choose what they buy.

I think its an easy fix!
From the sound of it you have enough patience and talent to touch things up!

Here is a drink to you my friend! :duff

Reading through this thread i notice there is some negative thoughts on this statue. So my question is are there any other companys that can make this statue perfect .I for myself think the statue looks fine judging by the photo s .

Thats it!
No one calls my beloved IM an empty barrel!

Dont like it, cant buy it... move along!

You know I like it. However the broken arm does show it is hollow in that area. I can overlook that aspect if the paint job was better. However I have to wait and see if others get a similar treatment as yours did. Sideshow must know you would have taken pictures of the item to post on here which may be why you received a very good one of the bunch so early. It makes sense to do it that way for marketing purposes. However two out of the three in this forum have come out sub-par to some degrees. 20 or so have been shipped out, so hopefully we get some of those to join this forum and also post pictures. Averone, thanks for your time and photo's. I see your point in defending sideshow as you want to stay on their good side. However everyone here has an opinion based on the photo's provided and moving along is not an option for a "free" and "open" forum. As long as the criticism remains civil and based on factual evidence, it is there to provide Sideshow with feedback on what to improve for the rest of the line. This 1:2 IM is indeed an impressive piece to any collection, but at that price it shouldn't have as many flaws in my opinion. Yours even isn't perfect, but it is darn close and as you say better than the prototype. I may pull the trigger on this item still, but I have to see some more positives than negatives once more people post reviews.

What can make this statue perfect would be to fine tune the sanding process before the paint is applied and the smoothing process after the paint dries. The area's that are more difficult to smooth out, I understand are hit with grease marks to cover them up, which is done to speed up the process for an assembly line in China to be more efficient and less costly. I get that part of the business. However if sideshow simply adds ten more minutes of buffing to the lineup, it would mean we have a chance of having a better statue, then that is what should be done. The next thing to correct is the shipping box. One had an arm broken, the other had paint being rubbed off in the toe area from rubbing against the Styrofoam during shipping. Make a better fitting foam and that problem is solved. These two little steps added in place and I believe this statue would have a great run with minimal complaints. Just my two cents.

Dude, you're misinterpreting the context and the expression... go look it up. I like the 1:2 IM and appreciate your photos and review.

Does IM make any noise?

There you have it.....I think you have your sites set on the wrong target here...

An internal speaker with quotes from the movie would have been pretty cool. However you can get that from a Hallmark card nowadays for cheap so no big deal ;)

I have this on order....but I hope I dont see areas on this like I did on my 1:1 bust when I got that. The neck area better be perfect same with all the joints. Pictures and reviews are all we need to see to get an idea of where this piece is heading in the next few months. If the next 30 pieces that go out all have paint issues again....this will be canceled and SS will hear about.
paint runs?????? are you kidding?????....on a $2000 piece you get paint runs??? That wasnt even a problem on the 1:1....this is a WHOLE new problem. I have $3000 1/12 model cars with paint finishes as good as the real car. Why cant these freaken chinese people paint consistently? This piece should be the EASIEST statue to paint...EVER! Its ONLY 2 colors and it has smooth surfaces....:duh
But the part that still bugs me the most about this is that its not numbered. I dont know if I will ever get over that..:(

I agree. How hard can it be to smooth this baby out pre-paint and get a nice layer of primer and then paint on it. Perhaps they are using a paint that has the primer mixed in. In either case, the rough spots should be gone before paint touches the statue. It seems they are missing the under arm areas and joints on purpose which is being lazy because they already know those area's will be greased so who cares. Well, that is a big mistake because I will not order a piece where the extra detail and care is not taken to make sure the area's get sanded and smoothed prior to the paint application process. Sideshow...Call the Chinese worker dept. making this and tell them to double check to make sure all area's are smooth before they paint.. Simple as that and the problems would be fixed for the most part.
