Snake is clearly anxious to be right. So just nod your head Ali and move on. :lol

It has nothing to do about being right, since he's fixated on someone's name being mentioned and he keeps it going. :violin

As much as a suppressor may have dulled the sound of the shots, it's pretty clear the crowd didn't even know they were hearing gunshot until people started dropping around them. The first volley people are standing around wondering what's going on.
At that point he had hit many targets. As with most of these shootings the damage is mostly done in the first few moments, before anyone can really react.

God help the families of all those involved. You cannot rationalize or explain crazy.

I don't know how true it is but there was stories about how he was on anti-anxiety medication, which I would think played a factor... but of course there's also theories about him being radicalized.

Just curious, what do you need the guns for? Not a loaded question I honestly want to know.

As for the overall violence, agreed it should be tabled all the time not just when there is a mass shooting

As for your rights and amendments, Jesus christ, times change time to change with it. We no longer live in a world that can simply allow these types of weapons to be accessible.

I know Canada is a lot smaller scale, but we never have this type of violence. People barely blow anyone up, shoot anyone, drive over anyone. Why not? Maybe because we are to busy playing hockey, or because the violence has not been engraved in our life.

Stay in your own lane.

Can't have a discussion? Owning a assault rifle is that important to you?

No issues dude, keep killing each other and I'll play hockey in the beautiful country that is Canada. I used to hate Canada being so socialistic with the crazy taxes, ****** medical system and the damn hippies. But the more I travel I get to appreciate what I have and I'll trade the taxes and winter tires and my my hippie prime minister any day of the week in comparison to what goes on south of the border. My children will never have to live with violence you have whether that's mass shootings or urban genocide.

Somebody used to post about Shai LaBoef all the time. Almost if someone was "fixated" on him. Every time the kid wiped his *** somebody had to post about it. Actually got a little creepy.

Can't remember who that was.

It's unfortunate as I always took you for smart dude, keep deflecting. Have to assume your (US) issue will never go away. Maybe you and anyone else for that matter might change their mind once some they love, not know, gets their face shot off.

See, you wouldn't understand why I posted that because you're a humorless bore. What was it, like handful of posts over a couple of weeks, months? I didn't know you were the arbiter of what frequency we should be staying on one particular topic here. That wasn't an ongoing argument, just a few dumb posts. I was fine just dropping it, you weren't.

Shall we talk about White Washing? Injustices of the White Man on minorities? Does that tickle your fancy?

P.S. if you're going to slam someone here, it helps if you actually spell the name right.

Maybe mind your own country's business? Seriously, you're not doing yourself any favors.

Here's the thing. To maintain a free society is VERY important to maintain a civilian population that is armed. The consequences are "possible" ( probable ) violence.

The modern society does not need to have an armed populace is a very naive view of the world. What exactly would you do Canada if your government suddenly decided to curtail your freedom in the name of peace and security from a "terrorist" threat? How far are you willing to go in giving up liberties to live "safe"?

Most people think we are somehow too evolved to have a dictatorship rise out of a long standing democracy, I say fiddle sticks.

The basis of the film V for Vendetta ( from the graphic novel ) is very real. The manipulation of people , high on emotion to give up freedom for security is a very real threat.

Look up the Patriot act if you need a reference.

I could quote Ben Franklin now, but the truth is most of society would give up most of their freedoms to feel a little safer....

How is that relevant? I'm trying to understand why Americans citizens feel the need to own weapons of that scale. Simple question, no?

Maybe it's sport, which I get Ive fired many guns and it was fun, so I get it

Maybe it's a sense of security, I get that also. But when is enough, enough? Sniper scope, silencer, extra magazine..

Or maybe and this the one I'm going with, it's your right because the constitution says you have right to bare arms.

Well like **** changes and people evolve

I'm really not trying to argue with you dude, I just can't wrap my head around how the U.S. continues to let this go on and on and on.

What is needed to change? To me you start with guns

Here's your problem understanding. People do not change and people with power WILL ALWAYS try to dominate those without.

Forget personal protection, forget sport , forget neato I can go pew pew....

It's about keeping democracy a democracy in the face of those who would subvert and curtail your freedoms.

Just because in you short life no country has ever tried to take control of their citizens by force does NOT mean it cannot or will not happen again.

Ok so and I'm not trying to be condescending at all, but you are saying you need the guns to ensure democracy is upheld. If that is the case, then why is that only an issue in the U.S.? The large religious and social divide? This I would agree is probably the largest in the world, if that is what you believe to be the case

The Yanks don't trust their government.

Next!

(FFS let it go dude. There's plenty of literature out there to explain US gun culture, its origins, economics and socio-politics)

Guys, your basing your experience on your OWN very short timeline. Read some history, and understand what happens when the government wields all the military power and the populace does not....it's all written down to read.

It is currently happening in many countries around the world. Just because you personally live in a country and time of relative peace and security does NOT mean human nature has changed. Or that things could not be changed in a heartbeat.

If a nuclear weapon m went off in Quebec, and the government decided to restrict all travel in and out of your country, limit your purchase or goods and services and curtail you right to protest.....what would you do? You think your brooding contempt will change a government that's decided to crack down on its people's freedom?

Learn from History, the issue of gun violence in America pales in comparison to the death and violence perpetrated on the people of history by their own government...

I am just answering a question in earnest since the poster seemed to genuinely want to know why some people so strongly defend the 2nd amendment.

If the only reason you ask is to poo poo and honest answer, it's better not to ask and remain uninformed about someone else's reason for their actions.
