heres ned on the dark horse throne. from the neck down I love this figure. Repainted the beard, but ill eventually have the whole head repainted. There is a good sculpt under there somewhere!

Someone at Threezero talking to someone else...

"The Ice sword is such an important accessory for Ned, why did this customer not order directly from our store?"

:)

To be fair, a lot of people became interested outside of threezero's order window. That is what I experienced with Tyrion. I didn't mind not having the dagger so I bought it anyways, but I would not have gotten Ned without Ice. Makes sense to encourage orders from the website but questionable otherwise.

A manufacturer makes full retail price on the exclusive. They get less than half that when you buy from another retailer. Of course the exclusive is going to be as attractive as possible.

As much as I love this figure I was one of the unfortunate ones to get a very loose body, hard to keep a pose on its own other than regular standing pose, outfit and sculpt are amazing, a lot of pictures I have seen here make the face look "orange" but in hand it is not.

My wife finally opened the one I got for her yesterday, he is amazing considering his price. I wish the sword were heavier but it gets the job done!

Bring on Jon Snow!!!

Looks like everyone is going to have the same pose for Ned :lol

By the way on paint differences, my pommel is pretty much silver with zero gold

As with Tyrion I broke Ned down in case anyone is interested. All pieces are quality and very will made. The jerkin is actually pretty thick. The ankle are Hot Toys style. One thing that surprised me is the body. I don't know what I was expecting but it ended up being what is a very good torso sculpt. It's just a pity that it's a rubber sleeve and that the rubber's tone is waay off. :lol It seems they cut some corners with Ned here. Tyrion had a fully sculpted body and neck adapter that was even texturized. I wasn't expecting any of that. Ned is a basic un-sculpted body with a rubber torso overlay and isn't color matched. No biggie since it's hidden but I do hope they work out any kinks in the painting department concerning that orange tone some people got. It would also be nice if they color matched the neck.

i traded that body in for a truetype myself. I had some real wobbly knees and the rubber torso didnt allow for a bend in the midsection for the throne pose

looks like a threeA bod, no surprise there. but why bother with that rubber torso sleeve? seems like a added extra cost thats not necessary at all.

Yeah, I don't know why they even bothered really.
Could probably just cut the overlay off couldn't we?
You could if you wanted a crunch. It's also peels extremely easy. As you can see at the top of the neck mine has peeled.

Wonder if it's a chance for them to experiment with a new process on a figure where the results are totally hidden so if it doesn't work out quite right, the customer is still OK. Could be something they plan to use on another figure where we'll see the covering.

Dammit!!! I'm getting impatient to own Jon Snow that I'm so close to buying a Ned Stark. I just don't want to get trapped by this license:lol

Probably a test for the White Walker.

Well, I guess they know the paint sucks.

prolly did it to add some slight bulk to the figure i guess, imagine jon wont have it since he is younger. speculation but thats my take. they know they can go all joints covered look, the Ash IM by threeA etc no need to do a test.

My guess is, they made those bodies for a different figure/license and they didn't turn out as expected. So they might as well burn off the inventory on a character that's so fully dressed, you'll never see it. Doesn't hurt Ned at all. That would make sense to me.

I would doubt it has much to do with R&D on White Walkers. I'd say they had a pretty successful test run for that kind of technique with the WD Pets. (The Pets turned out so well, they actually got me excited to see what 3Z could accomplish with the White Walkers.)
