a)
President Barack Obama
Vice President Joseph Biden

b)
President John McCain
Vice President Sarah Palin

c)
Undecided

What say you?

I choose a

I am at a point right now where I will most likely choose B, but not because I have any love for McCain. And that kind of sucks, because I hate casting an "anti" vote. I much prefer to vote FOR something I want, than AGAINST something I don't want.

Thats not really a valid point because Biden doesn't have "plans as VP" that are seperate from Obama.... so why should Palin have them that differe from McCain. Maybe I misunderstand what you're saying.

Biden will certainly direct Obama on International Diplomacy.

Trying to keep the debate "healthy"... Try guys. Be respectful even if you disagree. The world would be a boring place if everyone followed the same path.
So we're actually doing you a favor by arguing in these political threads. We're trying to keep you from getting bored. Gloves are now off boys and girls.

Do you guys believe the "95% of people won't see increased taxes thing"? I sure don't, especially when they realize that by increasing taxes on business they'll decrease investment, therefore decreasing profits therefore decreasing tax revenue.

I don't think there's an inherent causal relationship at any point in your chain. Cutting investment in response to higher taxes is irrational if greater investment creates greater profit.

That said, somehow we need to move the capital investment and ideas into America so we can employ workers. Best way to do that is probably getting rid of minimum wage here or highly taxing imports.

A protectionist response is about as far from free market ideals as its possible to get. Getting rid of the minimum wage achieves nothing but a slide into poverty.

And Palin will provide valuable advice to McCain on energy policy. Both are significant issues for our future.

I think McCain already had that covered. She is there to get the female vote and Johnny Six Pac.

Not true at all. In fact increasing minimum wage does more damage to the economy than it does helping.

And Palin will provide valuable advice to McCain on which mini van to drive to pick the kids up from hockey pratice. Both are significant issues for our future.

There that seems more accurate. :lol

K let me try and clear things up. How I saw it:

Biden: Discussed times when Obama and him didn't agree (glass half empty/full part) and revealed what an Obama/Biden administration would do for America.

Palin: Discussed how honored she is to be running with John "the maverick," why he is "a maverick," did not mention one time where she disagreed with John McCain (she has) and spent the rest of the time praising Biden for disagreeing with Obama in the past.

Did I miss anything?

I won't disagree with the female vote point, but I don't think McCain has it covered well enough on energy policy. Neither of the presidential candidates have what I believe to be an adequate or realistic plan.

Funny thing about that is pre Palin McCain was getting 47% of the white women vote, now post Palin McCain is getting only 40% of that vote.

And Palin will provide valuable advice to McCain on energy policy.

What does she actually know about energy beyond being lucky enough to live in a state where she can use a windfall profits tax for socialist wealth redistribution?

Increasing minimum wage does more damage to the economy than it does helping.

Nonsense. We're a consumer economy that works best when consumers have money. Any company that has to close its doors because of 50¢ an hour was on life support anyway.

Drill baby drill 08!

Higher taxes decreases the desire to invest because you lower the rate of return on investment. It also promotes not only moving the manufacturing side of a company but moving the complete ownership of the company. So the IRS misses out on both taxes on profits AND earnings.

Getting rid of the minimum wage achieves nothing but a slide into poverty.

I disagree, it would certainly create disparity between the very poor and the very wealthy, but it will also bolster the true middle class, which has been sliding toward poverty because of the minimum wage.

Going by the polls and electoral maps, it looks fairly wrapped up in favour of President Obama, 338 to 185 with only NC still a tie. It would thrill me to no end if NC ends up blue. :joy

It'd take a major disaster for McCain to come back from this deficit. Don't want to count the chickens too soon, but looks like America is finally sick of the republican BS. :chew We'll see if the democratic BS works any better.

It's one thing to argue politics. It's a whole other issue to call people racist. Point out where any one of us "idiot" anti-Obama supporters said where we weren't voting for him because he was black.
