How can Microsoft with such a successful past be doing this to themselves ?. It' insane.

Well they got pretty lucky with the 360. Before that, Sony was the head of gaming consoles. They are just taking the throne back. Microsoft is losing all their battles right now. People are leaving Windows 8. Nobody is buying their phones. And now the Xbox One seals the deal.

Xbox: Zune edition

Sony isn't so much taking the throne back, they were handed it over without a fight.

I will say this. The playstation nut swingers are really showing their class. Its no wonder after taking a beating for so many years. They finally have something to brag about.

Us true gamers just have bought everything. What a bunch of losers. :lol

Is this for real???

From this point on the PS4/Xbox One trolling is over. If you are adding to the conversation or making realistic comparisons then that is fine. Just coming in the thread to troll will no longer be accepted.

If this system can do what they say with instant-switching between gaming, TV and movies then that will sell me alone. Looks a bit too good to be true but that original presentation was amazing.

Plus if all of that cloud-processing stuff is real then that could be epic! It's almost like the system could become more powerful by them upgrading servers.

It's funny, because quite a few of us would have been considered XBox fanboys at one point. I know I sure was.

Today I found myself getting excited for the PS4... it was odd, but exciting because it felt like something new and different, whereas frankly, what I was looking forward to most with the new XBox was Halo, and hopefully the ability to keep playing my old XBox games. Now that it's just Halo, well... that's not enough, especially now with all the restrictions.

Speaking of that, is Bungie free to make games for other systems? Or are they completely tied/owned/whatever by Microsoft?

I thought they had to make so many Halo games for M$ but were free to make whatever other games they wanted.

Bungie is no longer doing Halo games and has no obligations to Microsoft, that's why they're doing Destiny and it's coming out on everything. Originally Microsoft owned Bungie but they broke it off. After that, Microsoft created a new studio 343 Industries to do the Halo games

:lecture Yup. I'm starting to get really interested in Destiny after reading some bits about it, but I'm still not sure I'll buy it on day 1.

Destiny does look really great. I'm excited for it just wish it was a launch title. Though I'm pretty pumped to see what Bungie can do outside of Halo.

That's what I wanted to hear. :)

Destiny does look really strong. Borrowing a few Borderlands elements and I sure don't mind that.
