I fear you will waiting for that for a very long time...
The only way to get a "perfect" Vader with wonkiness and all is going the custom route.
Probably true. What bothers me the most are the short legs and the fragile pleather though. Otherwise I'm not really bothered with the finer helmet details as long as the shine finish is jaw-droppingly glorious.

Wonder if this will have the nylon suit like dark empire Luke. Is not also Kenobi Vader sporting a new suit material?

Feels like it. But there's no official word on if it is or not. Just in hand impressions
Is HT in the habit of giving more than advertised?
Maybe? Apparently they added movable eyes to the recently released Jake Sully figure even though he wasn't advertised with them.

Seems rare. There was a time when it was more common -- like adding a full Ripley figure to the power loader -- but those days are mostly gone.

I look forward to the confusion when people insist its the new nylon. We'll never really know.

The Kenobi Vader suit is standard pleather.

Strangely, the Dark Empire Luke specs actually only mention the pants as being made of nylon, leaving open the possibility that the shirt/sleeves part is still pleather. Obviously makes sense all the quilted suit would be nylon, so maybe the pants-only aspect is just an oversight (unless of course pleather is cheaper and the sleeves mostly hidden.)

There's nothing in the ROTJ 40th Vader specs that mention nylon whereas it does specifically mention nylon in the Dark Empire release. Which is a bit odd if we assume nylon is the new standard for Vader jumpsuits.

It's possible that the graphics department doesn't always get the updated info that nylon is the new pleather, but I'm still skeptical. If HT has a boatload of pleather leftover, they'll want to use it up.

I bought this with reward points, so its mine even if it comes in black licorice.

It's worth noting that the HT ANH Vader is now more than eight years old and I haven't noticed any deterioration as yet (knock on wood.)

Though I was thinking the same thing about my SSC Indy leather jackets then suddenly noticed last year that both the Raiders and TLC jackets had pleather cracks starting, though those figs were closer to 15 years old at that time.

In some ways the more recent Sideshow ROTJ ("ESB V2") Vader jumpsuit - which was always a bit jelly-sticky feeling right from the start - seems more like its closer to going off.

What's a bit scary was that just before I noticed the Indy jackets I finally got my hands on the ANH Sideshow Vader jumpsuit which to me is still the best-ever 1/6 Vader jumpsuit - like a perfect match to the costume and superior to any HT version - but now I'm sweating on it cracking since its the same age as the Indy stuff. 😬 :lol

Last time I remember was with Mysterio when they gave us the headsculpt out of the blue.

You'd think pleather vs nylon would be noticeable in-hand - fine leather feel and glossy painted/coated finish vs nylon more silky and a shiny rayon-type fabric appearance. Like sail fabric vs soft leather handbag.

But who knows, maybe it'll be a nylon variant that looks closer to pleather even in-hand.

I really hope that's the case going forward. The pleather HT (and SSC, and others) uses is such a curse/risk for collectors, a ticking time bomb that can halve the value of a fig with significant pleather parts several years down the track.

I bought a spare DX13 Terminator jacket when that first became available. I opened it up about a year ago to see if it work work for a Mad Max custom, and it fell apart in my hands. Strangely, the DX13 I have in display is fine. But now I dare not handle it too much.

It’s really strange how some pleather seems to deteriorate (even if it’s the same item) and others don’t. Only pleather I’ve had issues with are the belts/straps on second hand DX05 and DX06 figures and ANH Han Solo’s boots. Idk how my ANH Vader suit is though 🤔 it could be a similar situation to your DX13 jacket that once I take it out of the bag it’s in it starts to deteriorate.
