I mean, if they can basically just rerelease the DX09 with only some new faceplates, paint apps, cape, and stand, then I don’t see why they also wouldn’t just rerelease the DX13 with, let’s say, new paint apps, stand, seamless arm, and USB plug for the eye. Maybe even real leather?
I think the KA Kim sculpt still holds up, personally, but it’s always nice to see major improvements if they are going to redo a figure. I almost bought a DX13 a few weeks ago for a great price, but in the back of my head was just thinking “this is probably getting 2.0’d at some point, might as well just wait it out.”
The problem is, I’m starting to think that about new figures too and I’m becoming more hesitant with my purchases. “Eh, the Pattinson Batman looks good, but I’m sure they’ll redo it at some point and fix all the proportions (I can just imagine their graphic now comparing it to the new and better 2.0). Eh, the ROTJ Vader looks good, but I’m sure they’ll redo it at some point with a nylon suit. Eh, the new John Wick looks great, but man do Hot Toys love Keanu Reeves, they’ll certainly do an artisan John Wick at some point.”
