The design of the armor is quite different from earlier releases so it was likely more expensive to manufacture than the 47. Could have used more diecast in the body and possibly the extra weapons and wings. Other than that maybe the light up features in the swap out arm cannon.

You have a good point. But I'm still wondering why this is so expensive compared to the previous die cast releases.

I'm wondering the same thing.

Maybe this is the new price point. But I don't see why this would cost more than the Mark 6 or 46. Those figures both had new, top notch engineering as well as amazing head sculpts and a unique base.

The base really kills me. I feel like they should have a decent environment base for that this. And I hate not having the diecast waist grabbers for diecast figures.

Not that I am getting this. I think this is the worst Iron Man design of all the MCU suits.

Could think of at least 2-3 more armaments they could add to what’s already been revealed, and I think there’s some hope that HT will revisit the accessories considering the tweaks they made to War Machine Mark 3 after Civil War was out.

This armor is stunning though, especially so in action. And in my opinion, could be counted as the most significant armor so far, considering its use in an apocalyptic event.

That said, since this is mark 50, i wonder what mark 49 was? Assuming hulkbuster 2.0 is mark 48.

Could you tell me one thing?

Is this the only Iron Man suit in the movie (besides HB 2.0) ??

Diecast is not more expensive to make then plastic. It’s actually cheaper. The diecast things is all about marketing. After the initial cost to buy and cover new presses and whatnot at the factory the cost to make a diecast figure is about the same as plastic, maybe a bit cheaper. The amount of diecast in a figure has nothing to do with what it costs, at least production wise. There’s nearly as much diecast in a hot wheeels car and they are a couple dollars.

If you compare the cost at Secret base of the 46/47/6 and this then they are pretty close. 30 bucks difference between them. The increase is almost identical to the difference in price from the 42 to 43, the 43 to 45.

I wasn’t saying that it cost more for them to use diecast, just that they may charge more for it. What I was saying could cost HT more was not reusing parts/designs from earlier Marks like they could with the 47.

If they where using the amount of diecast as a reason to increase the price they probably would just say it. Make a big deal about it, like CMC does. The cost increase is a normal new film increase like they have been doing for years. This one just happend to put it over a certain amount. But it’s the same increase as past ones. It’s been about a 40-50 dollar (at Sideshow, about 30 at Secret base) increase from main auto to main suit.

This armor is nearly OP. Can see a massive increase in preorders over the next few days

Agreed. Had this armor been in play during Civil War, Stark would've disposed of Team Cap in a matter of minutes; Cap wouldn't even be able to get a scratch on this armor.

Wish the price point of the figure was more budget-friendly though cos' I would've loved to own this piece after watching the film...but it is what it is..:(

True, but a certain Cap allie I reckon could have solo'd the airport battle going on Infinity War action..

I hear you on the price. That is why I am wondering whether Hot Toys will add new weapons after the movie to justify the price point. I believe that they did this once with the Episode VII Rey figure. They announced the light saber at a later date.

This is my first (and probably only) Hot Toys Iron Man figure. I love the sleek look of the armor so I could not resist it. I am hoping that Hot Toys will eventually announce more weapons to justify the price point. But if not, I will still be happy to have a definitive Iron Man look for my collection.

I'm so weak..... Instead of waiting to see the Mk50 on-screen tomorrow, AND THEN breaking down, I went ahead and broke down tonight and PO'd :lol

BBTS was at 7 yesterday, 4 earlier today, and 2 a few minutes ago before I PO'd. Pretty sure I'd regret missing out and having to go through SS.

Tomorrow night cannot come fast enough.

I hope the add a diorama base, likte the one which came with the Mark 45.
Than i didn't need more extra stzuff for the suit

Yeah, but you know how these movies go.. Cap had an appearance after the credits of Spider-Man. Does that count as being in it? And there have been photo teases of Avengers 4 and costumes involved which don't necessarily reflect the fates of characters in this movie. It's not too much to expect people to have a bit of spoiler courtesy in figure threads for at least a few days..

We all know how this goes. They say they're contracted to come back but that's misdirection so no one expects them to die in the film. Or they say its the last time they'll appear but their story is left open so there's a chance of a comeback. That being said show a little courtesy for people who haven't seen it and SHUT THE *****K UP!

I hope that the mods can delete any posts with spoilers. That should resolve the issue. I have not watched the movie myself and will only do so early next week.
