Pose it with the upcoming Stan Lee figure... ;)

Got a text from Mrs Kiwi from work today to say TWO boxes arrived for me at our rental property today. (That's the second time 2 Hot Toy boxes have turned up from two different companies on the same day)

Voila, Age of Ultron Thor, and the very first Thor from the first movie

If I'm to be honest, The Dark World is still my favourite overall. I think it looks the most 'Hemsworth'. AoU is probably the best figure though with the best detail and options. I think the head is the most detailed of the lot, but I still think TDW looks more like Chris and is better for an action shot.

The original Thor figure is as I thought before getting in hand. Much better with the helmet on (although next to the others the head looks tiny without all the hair bulking it out), but overall the weakest figure of the lot (naturally). I'm still happy to have him to complete the set, and the rock base is a nice point of difference. I won't be ruling out getting Odin to go with him at some point, but I think Avenger Loki will elude me with it's high price.

Glad you had a very Thor day then. Congrats. :clap

This version grows on me even though I've been content with sleeved TDW Thor ... I think I'll pick this up if it gets any discounts

It has grown a lot on me since I got it. I'm still reluctant to do any posing with him, but he is a better detailed figure than TDW. I think Hot Toys have done a great job of every AoU figure that I have, and this is no exception.

Thanks for the insight

I just picked up a AoU head sculpt to put on my DW light armour Thor,
Hope it goes well because I really like the new sculpt. Might have to get the AoU darker cape as well.

does anyone know if it'll fit straight on? (The cape)

Which Thor has the best articulation/posability?

Very cool!

Even though I think TDW sculpt bears a better likeness, I like the expression and the hair of the AoU sculpt better. As far as the cape goes, in my opinion, I think TDW LA cape is the best Thor cape out there. The hue is the perfect shade of red that his cape is supposed to be and it has the nice dirty effect at the bottom. The AoU Cape is nice also, but I think it's slightly a bit too dark. Probably still my second favorite Thor cape, but TDW LA would be my go to cape if I had only one Thor figure.

However, if you wish to change to the AoU cape on TDW LA figure, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be able to fit. The capes on both figures are held in place by the discs/realms at the top of his armor, so I presume you'd be able to swap either cape in or out. The only thing I'd possibly be worried about is the length, being that AoU Thor is slightly taller.

thanks for the info, that's really helpful. I like the expression better on AoU as well, It was the one thing about the DW sculpt I didn't like! never felt natural to me.
I might leave the cape, i'll wait and see what it looks like with the new HS.
