Took a few more photos of Thor today, dunno if he will stick around for long as ive started to get more interested in 1/4 scale

Bah, at least I finally have an answer on the hold-up. Even though I ordered it before the "International restrictions" were applied on the order page, my order was placed on the list, so wasn't processed with that shipment.



Hopefully this can be resolved in the next day or two...

Suffice to say I'm now fully cancelling, and ordering from Australia...

Damn thats annoying especially since Popcultcha was shipping theirs out in the first week of December.

And.. shipped! Thank You Popcultcha. I wish in hindsight I'd never made the original order from Sideshow two months ago while it was still listed as a 'pre-order'. PC had it in stock back during the last round of sales in Nov/Dec and one of those days was something like 20% off all in-stock Hot Toys. I think another day had a similar sale on Marvel.. I'd have saved money and gotten the figure weeks ago..

There have been lessons learnt here since pre-ordering from SS almost two months ago, . If official Australian/NZ stockists can now get stock around the same time as the US, then with the price being pretty similar overall, it just makes sense to buy closer to home. How I could order from the website, but then be caught up in the international distribution quota restrictions, I'm just not sure how that happened. Usually Restricted Items you can't get as far as checking them out. For example I can no longer buy Scarlet Witch or the quarter scale Iron Man from Sideshow.

I (hopefully) won't get caught out again. I'll be sticking to 'Just added' pre-orders and exclusives from Sideshow from now on, and maybe, just maybe if something is ever on special and catches my eye and I can add in my Reward Points and make a good saving.

I've never bought from Sideshow directly, and the only thing/s in a year with a worthwhile (imo) exclusive that has me thinking of placing an order is the 1/4 scale Dark Phoenix (and one of those Prime 1 1/3 Arkham Knights).I've always felt that the single additional weapon etc I could do without, but I'm liking that exclusive headsculpt.

Just don't like the idea of being caught by large Forex variances and to a lesser extent the large shipping distance for returns/exchanges.

It could be done. But I don't know how much of the head you'd have to remove to fit that small helmet. Just look at the Thor head with remove able hair and see how small it was. The AOU head might have too big a face for it to look good.

Also, on a different note....







It was aged for a thousand years in casks made from the wrecks of Grünthar's fleet, it was not meant for mortal man....

One of Thor's hair strand is like 1/2 inch or so longer than the other 3.....I might just trim it down. I've seen a few on Ebay and they all look similar in length.

It doesn't look unnatural. If you cut it, you will likely regret it.
