Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: MMS Avengers: AoU - Thor Collectible Figure

I would like to know which characters people are currently crushing on. Its one of the many factors I take into account when I make a toy purchase. :lecture

Jeremy Renner
Sebastian Stan
ScarJo

I hope this helps you figure out future purchases!

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: MMS Avengers: AoU - Thor Collectible Figure

I'd give anything to know how any of the avengers smell...oh my that is odd :lol

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: MMS Avengers: AoU - Thor Collectible Figure

Yeah I wouldn't have it any other way, I rather sacrifice a crazy dynamic pose for seamless arms, looks way more organic and not like some cheap toy with visible joints everywhere

Hey if the rubber arms would last, I would be all for it too...but it's just too risky!
I'm worried about my Gamora and Hulk (both in neutral positions) and even my Leonidas who is still boxed.

I guess this did not make it in these forums (not sure) but on OSW there is a discussion about it.

Thor posed like this (I guess this is considered extreme???)

Well maybe Gamora and Leonidas have the same fate but I don't think that Hulk won't have any issue. These rubbers are too thick for this size. But Hulk arm's are really bigger.

I had the same issue with my HT Hellboy figure. I bought another muscular body, made it painted to one by my friends and problem solved. He's even painted the tatoo.

The body is Kaustik Plastik Heroik Muscular body.

I thought to make the same for Thor (mine is armored version though) but I don't want to tear the suit apart.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: MMS Avengers: AoU - Thor Collectible Figure

Well looks like I am not buying Thor....I don't see why Hot Toys can't just do sculpted arms and stop with the rubber arms crap

Rubber cracks and tears especially when moving/posing and cracks over time as it dries out....

Looks like these are going to sit in Sideshow's warehouse just like the Dark world one

It wouldn't surprise me if the guy who owned that Thor probably attempted to do a more dynamic pose.
I have several HT with Rubber and I have zero issues.
There's pros and cons with the Rubber bodies.
Aesthetically, they're more pleasing, looks more realistic.
Unfortunately, your poses are limited to minimal dynamic poses.

So if you're happy with non dynamic poses, You're golden.

Yea it was discussed here. Like two days ago over in the AC batman thread. That is not normal. It's not bad rubber it's a bad owner. The pose he said he had it in is less dynamic then I pose I have mine in, and have had it in, since the day this figure came out. Mines almost the same as his but with more bent arms. And I have zero issues. I have multiples of that body on customs. No issues. I have hulk and gamora. No issues. I have Dutch and a few dutch bodies on customs. No issues. I have dx02 batman. No issues. I have Rambo. No issues. I have drago. No issues. I have ed209 no issues. I've got more then 20 rubber body figures. And not a single one as any issue (except one dutch body but that's not becuase of bad rubber but bad handling on my part). there is no way rubber is even close to as bad as is made out on these forums. I work with it nearly every day . The cowls and suits and props and molds I make and use are almost all rubber. And it's not fragile. It's actually the opposite.

Look at tires for example. If they are left in bad environments they rot or fall apart. But one of my family members has his first car still (1969 Mach 1) and it's still on original rubber. The rubber in these figures ain't the same..but it's the same principle. yes there will be some that are bad. Nature of manufacturing. But the mass majority are fine.

There's no chance I could have over 20 with zero issues if the rubber was anywhere near as bad as claimed..it's just not statistically possible.

And just in case anyone thinks..nah he ain't got those. Just making stuff up..here's a few quick pics I took. I am rearranging my house so these where stacked in a room anyway. Not all of the ones I have, a few still in boxes in the basement. A couple my daughter has in her room(which I cant/don't go in unless she's here lol). And i lent a few to a local comic shop who wants to see if there's enough local interest to carry them and they didn't have any to display. Anyway...I think in the pic there's most of them.

How would you know if they're rotten? You got them all boxed.

Also, just bc you haven't had a bad experience, that means little in the grand scheme of things when a majority of community feedback is saying otherwise in cases like The Comedian, Oily abs Batman, ED 209, etc.

They are not all in boxes. Some are. But not all.

And my point was half the people talking about (probably more) bad rubber are all using th same few cases and that makes it seem worse. If it where a majority of issues mathematically there's no way I could have that many with no issues. It's the case of a few people having issues, which no one knows how they treated them or if it happened like they said, being used to show how bad the rubber is.

And sorry, my point is valid in the grand scheme. If you count someone saying they have one bad one then you can't duscount someone saying they have over twenty perfect ones. And I am being very conservative in that estimate. It's probably twice that if you include custom used bodies. In fact I've got issues with everything but the rubber. Buttons loose, plastic that broke, lights the stopped working. But all the rubber is fine.

Do you have any with rubber issues?

How many people have actually got ones with issue and how many people just heard about them? And how many people have a figure with rubber that has no issues?

You don't have "that many", you have a few single figures from a release of tens of thousands. That's it. So congrats, you're lucky they aren't rotted/melted/oily. You're the minority.

No I don't have hundreds(well actually I do but not all rubber)

You say I'm in the minority but what's that based on? I see people say things like where said here...five or six people complaining or worried about the rubber based entirly on a photo someone else took. I have more non damaged figures then photos of actual damaged figures I've seen in two plus years here. So to me, that doesn't put me in the minority.

I heard that "every" comedian melted. Mines fine. Except permanent marker my daughter did. I heard every dx02 was bad. Both of mine are fine. I heard every ed209 melted. Mine is fine.

How many with bad rubber do you have? Personally.
