Yeah that large, perfectly symmetrical mouth just doesn't look right to me at all. The RO mask wasn't totally right either, but at least they got the basic asymmetry correct.

Sigh, think I'm leaning more now to just getting the 1/4 Vader.

Compared with 1/4 Rotj vader 1/4 scale more accurate star-wars-darth-vader-quarter-scale-figure-hot-toys-902506-17.jpg

I understand that the exposed back of the head is required in this release and HT would have received waves of slack from collectors if it was not there but it is pointless. It might even hinder the overall look of the dome because it is required to be removable. Overall it looks great. For those waiting for a 1/6 todays your lucky day!! I know something would be moving down there if this would be my first 1/6 Vader.

And I hate the way the dome keeps falling off in that video. Why isn't it attached with a magnet? He just tilted the figure slightly and he flung the helmet across the table :slap Looks flimsy as hell. And honestly the reveal of the back of Vader's head is oddly shaped. It should protrude further back. Like its not a fully formed cranium.

The minute they touch him the dome shoots off like a rocket. Where exactly will everyone try to reposition the head, the dome. Not remotely liking the lack of a magnet there.

Looks really good. I was considering getting him even though I already have the ANH version and I intended to only have one Vader in my collection. But the dome popping off thing is worrisome and makes me think I should wait til the ROTJ version comes out someday.

Wouldn’t it be the same for the ROTJversion since they want to display the anakin head too :dunno

Take dome off, pose figure, replace dome. Seems like an easy fix to me. It's such a pointless feature though. Would have preferred a non removable dome.

Can't wait to get this! Hopefully they don't release a second version where they make improvements. They should get it right the first time.

And the crowd goes wild! :lol

Looks pretty good though. My only real gripe after giving the images a cursory glance is the pointless, removable dome. Figure would require some futzing, but I think it’d look pretty good stock after doing so.

Maybe for the meditation chamber scene

Looks really nice, but like the RO version I don't feel I NEED it. I'd love to have all the HT Vader's on my shelf, but too pricey with wanting other SW figures and of course space.

My favorite Vader version is ANH, which I have (v1 with v2 gloves & boots). And since the ESB is nearly identical to ROTJ, I feel I should just wait since that will have a full reveal headsculpt. The base is cool, but not something I'd use and it would just stay in the box. I have enough SS rewards to get either ESB Vader or ESB Deluxe Fett for just about free. Was waiting to see final production pics of this guy. I think you get more for your money with Fett.

Still undecided. :dunno

I I think for the removable dome is possibly remove the old magnet and put a stronger magnet?

Just watched the video again and the light-up boxes have me baffled...the two belt boxes still have the wee switch underneath them...but there's now another little battery box on the back of the belt?...And then there looks to be another switch higher up on the back for working the chest box?

Yeah, that's crazy. Couldn't they have linked all the light to that battery pack hidden on his hip? Weird and lazy construction there.

I think people might be right about waiting for the DX Jedi version. This is everyone's favorite Vader and for some reason it seems... rushed and not well thought out. Especially the helmet's ability to remain on the head. Also find the lack of even subtle paintwork (yellows and pinks) on the back of the head... disturbing.

Perhaps I'm understanding the timed release in HK with US release.
