Re: Hot Toys - MMS300D11 - Avengers: AoU - Iron Man Mark 45

Thanks! I was hesitating on order but as a whole it's really nice for the price but sadly I think my collecting days are coming to a slower pace. Cutting back.

Same, after Age of Ultron, I'm taking a huge step back from these

I'm speeding up :lol and I really should be cutting back
Well good for you! I don't have the funds for all of this all the time so time to cut.

Same here! Time to have money for moving out and other stuff. It'll be better that way.

I don't know about that. The war machine 2 was listed as coming out between August and September, but I got a 3-5 week arrival email a week ago.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS300D11 - Avengers: AoU - Iron Man Mark 45

Hey man, $1 is $1 to anyone holding it. It's a standardized form of currency. It buys the exact same amount of stuff from person to person.

But that doesn't mean it has the same value to everyone. What may seem expensive to you, might be a day's bank interest to someone else. And likewise, there are people out there that would be appalled at whatever amount you'd readily spend on a 12" Iron Man suit. The point is, it's all relative, and there needs to be far less judgement on these boards regarding who can and will spend what and on what. It would be horrendous for someone to belittle another person because they can't afford as many toys, but it's just as spiteful and jealous to belittle those who can.

You're entitled to decide for yourself and for your budget what makes sense for you, but consider that this is a community that spans a vast spectrum of backgrounds and incomes, but that we're all here because we find the same enjoyment in these collectibles. A little more respect would do these boards quite a bit of good in this regard.

Well said. I like you.

And telling another company what they should charge for an item when you have zero understanding or information on how the process works and what the margins are or the overhead or the licensing cost or tooling costs...I find that just as bad and it helps no one.

Yes this does not come with a stark head. BIG deal. You never see RDJS in the helmet anyway and I bet half the people complaing about it are the same that want it 100% accurate. Also, when comparing it to the 43 on a cost balance you fail to even consider that the tooling (as I have said a hundred times, tooling is the single largest individual production cost) for the 43 is split over at least (so far) two figures. And the price is nearly the same. So by your logic they should have added cost to this because of that(not you I'm quoting but the person you replied to).

This community man. If it's cheap they think it should have included more and been a little more money. When it's got a bunch of stuff but higher priced (this is in that group) it should be cheaper. When they reveal a bunch of figures people complain. (See the thread stared to complain about being burnt out) and then when they go a week without a figure they complain. When someone points out or counters or explains the business side or hot toys side people sudden act like that person is mr negative. (So it's ok to complain about the figures and company but not ok to defend them or disagree when people complain...that's how it feels) these collector companies are in a lose lose situation. What a mess.

And you of ALL people didn't get this idea on your own? For shame! :rotfl

Not the swear jar. I was just going to print one of these out and carry it with me.

Yet another post that shows why NRD is needed.

Yep. And the argument that becuase he admitted it that somehow changes what it is...don't get that.

He didn't say he was going to wait to order. He said he ordered and was goig to cancel later when he got a coupon from another company. So the stock BBTS now has to commit to buy and hold for him will now get discounted later, costing BBTS money(potentiallly) when they have to offer that at a discount becuase they over ordered stock based on promise to pay deals that people have no intention on honoring. It's why the NRD will continue to show up, and why it will end up being a staple of every large retailer.

instead of just waiting to order becuase he had no intention on paying...

Please let me explain before jumping me. I want the product and will pay for the product. I'm just tired of standing behind the product and ordering it on the first day when I watch people who wait get coupon codes later on and get it cheaper than me. I pre-order on BBTS because I want to be assured I get the product if it possibly sells out. In a perfect world I'd just like to pre-order the product from Sideshow. But unfortunatly they play games that make the die-hards look dumb for pre-ordering early. This is a game that I don't want to play. But Sideshow has forced my hand. I'm a stay at home Dad so I need my money to be spent wisely. Sorry if this offends anyone, it's just what I have to do to get the best price now a days.

Agh .... I should really just wait for the Civil War armor. I'll tap out with 43 and potentially Hulkbuster.

But on the other hand ... 45! Choosing is hard.

Although this is a sick looking suit, I have so much on pre-order as it stands that it makes this an easy pass for now. Will wait and see what the rest of the year holds before SS gets more NRD money from me.

Got this pre-ordered :yess: And since it won't be here until around my 25th birthday, I figured I'd go ahead and get myself the diecast MK3 for my 24th birthday haha :lol

Somehow I think I'll convince myself to end up with Mark 3 Mark 43 Hulkbuster and Mark 45 since 45 payments don't kick in until late into the Hulkbuster ones.
