I was wondering the same.

Yeah, it's normal, once I changed heads correctly -- that means clearing the entire neck area from the frizzy and sloppily tailored brown collar, the neck articulates fine. Geez, I've been fighting with this little guy -- that means futzing issues, in my case the arm popped out of the shoulder socket and that damn brown tunic is still driving me nuts, you really have to pull it down from the shoulders as much as possible. Mine was very bunchy underneath and still is. Did the Q-Tip mod too.

Anyway, being inspired by passing by Yoda's other HUT, the Jim Henson Studios, which is 2 blocks away, I'll finally get the little fella set up. BTW, you can bend it back enough to get the little guy to "look up". Here's a pic to show it can be done -- got to work on some cool poses and get him displayed, but you'll love this Guy, he really grows on you.

Sorry Guys, this is my only day off to do stuff like this so I'm always behind you guys!

My neck ball joint is stationary, like a flag pole, is this NORMAL?

Unfortunately, yes. Head/neck doesn't have too much articulation. You can get the head to look down, but looking anything higher up than a straight ahead gaze is near impossible unless you peform some surgery on the neck.

A picture from Pjam, I don't believe it!!!! :clap

:lol Now waiting for YOUR Yoda pic! You'll love it Greg. Unfortunately my crappy old phone has practically died.

Honestly guys, with this figure, it's not about the money because it's probably a $160 figure really. I know they gave us an extra head and they had to design a new body which gets overlooked, but for me, it's about the novelty and sentimentality. It's my third Yoda and my last little Jedi Master.

In good lighting the little fella truly evokes the puppet Yoda I loved as a kid. And when you mess up his hair, wisp it out, it brings him a bit more to life IMO. I have him displayed now in a better force pose with his cane, just need to light up the lamp and summon Besbin Luke to join him.

The only thing this diorama which is excellent (great mossy paint apps) needs is an expanded Diorama because it's too small to evoke Dagobah environs. I've noticed others are seeking aquarium stuff already. That SSC Hut is looking pretty good too, great for those who hung on to theirs and to those of us who held on to their DX07s, it's now worth the wait.

Seriously dude, I am no modder myself but this couldn't have been easier!

I am the only one that's mentioned a pritt stick, this is a pritt stick:

I am sure you the states have an equivalent, it's just a glue stick that they would use in schools etc.

I literally dabbed some on my finger, then dabbed it onto the side of Yoda's head. Then I pulled out some white fur from a plush toy and pressed it down onto the side of the head where I had placed the glue.

Even if you manage to F it up, which I doubt is possible, a glue stick would come off very easily leaving no damage to the figure whatsoever.
Sweet! So nothing permanent at all. I actually have a black/white mogwai ball that came with my Mohawk mogwai. Not sure if I want to cut some of that hair off. I'll be on the hunt for a cheap plush toy or something else to use. If I find anything good, I'll let everyone know.

Mine's arm broke at the elbow not 10 seconds out of the box. All I was trying to do was take his hand off to remove the plastic. Now trying to decide whether to just glue it on and, most likely, lose the double jointed elbow or deal with getting a replacement from SS.

Can someone post a side by side comparison to the medicom version?

I'd love to see this too.

The brown cloak underneath seems to be badly futzed and of a material that scrunched up easily. I took mine off and washed it then replaced it once it was dry and it hangs much better.

Ouch - really sorry to see that. If you don't get it replaced now will it always bother you?

This body generally seems a little fragile and more Sideshow quality than HT.

ABSOLUTELY contact Sideshow. They will probably just send you a new body. But even if they make you send it back, that's some serious damage to have to just put up with. Especially considering the price.

DO IT.

I totally agree on price... he's an excellent figure and I'm very happy to have him; but he does not come with much. I respect that it's a unique body; but that's not unusual for HT.

But when you compare him to how much the 2 Sideshow Yoda's came with (especially in terms of extra feet and hands) this figure is pretty light. Still, it's Yoda and it certainly looks much nicer than the Sideshow version; even if the Hot Toys one doesn't have any pants :lol

I have some craft fur I'm using for the 1/6 Wampa Project; I think it would probably look pretty good on Yoda.

The thing about craft fur is that some of it looks great from a distance, but when you get up close to it the strands of "hair" are very uniform and have blunt/flat egdes. On a 1/6 figure, that kind of fur looks awful. If you get faux fur, be sure to look at it up close or even take a close up photo and expand it to see what the ends look like... i know it sounds fidly, but you'd be suprised how noticeable cheap hair is on a figure :lol

As for the faux fur I have, this is what it looks like:

Get the replacement. For $200 you shouldn't have to deal with that. Breakages like that don't happen too often and Sideshow is pretty good about replacements.
