I added glass eyes to my custom Yoda figure and I think they really bring him to life. I've still got some work to do (slightly re-align the eyes, sculpt some new eyelids, remove some of the hair, add the HT inner robe and necklace), but I'm pretty pleased with him so far. What do you think?

Deluxe version comes with an old bridge diorama for him to sleep under. And a pack of deathsticks.

Damn, you guys are so supportive...

Yeah, I should have expected it...:slap

I have another, clean, outer robe, so I will replace it with that one and just weather it up lightly. The weathering in the photo I posted is nowhere near as dark or heavy as that in-hand; it's the picture processing that I did on it that made it look so dark. I'll post an un-edited photo...

I don't think the work you're doing to it is bad, I think the problem is the base figure you're working with, it's crap! So any attempt to make it look good are probably only going to be a whole lot of effort for nothing really.

But if I was to make suggestions then I would say one the eye colour is wrong, a brown or a green would be better but not blue.
Two, align the eyes better.

I think you have over weathered the clothing as well tbh.

I don't know why everyone are being dicks about it though, most of the TFA Chewie mods were ****ing shocking and people were like "great work" I was like REALLY!!!

Just ignore the idiots, there are lots of them on here. It's what happens when you get a bunch of middle aged men on the nearer side of retirement age with a toy fetish.

Thanks for some positive feedback buddy, it makes a nice change!

The eyes actually are green - I did a little research into them and the general view is that his eyes are green, with just a hint of brown/amber, so I went with green as the closest colour. And yes, I do need to align the eyes better - the glass eyes have a little tail on them, so you have to drill quite far back into the head to be able to move them about, so I will need to do that with his right eye, I think. His left eye also needs a new eyelid sculpted and added to remove the surprised/stoned look of his left eye!

I will also replace his robe with a less-weathered one too.

Cheers :wink1:

I think that once it's all done it has potential for sure and the glass eyes could be a real nice touch.
I am just not a fan of any of the previous yoda figures, but maybe you will surprise us all.

I will admit that $200 is a lot to spend on a Yoda figure and although I did I will say that he is most certainly not worth that kind of money at all. But I never had a yoda and so I bit the bullet.

It's always a bit tricky posting pictures of a work in progress, because it's unfinished and hard to judge how it will eventually look. Also people can be rather unkind.

I don't think people were being mean, I think its more of the sense of humor on this board. I've posted pics and made comments and people have made jokes of them, I just laughed it off because it was funny.

At the end of the day, the only opinion that counts is your own. If you're happy with your collection then that's all that matters

Yeah sorry Timemeddler. There can be a bit of old school-ground brutality in here sometimes. But don't take it to heart. Just a bit of fun.

I think that your Yoda looks great Timemeddler. The eyes could be adjusted, but they're not far from how the puppet looked on screen at times.
