Yeah, the problem with rooted hair is that it isn't nearly subtle enough for Yoda... It ends up sticking out way too much. I've yet to see any Yoda product smaller than 1:1 with rooted hair that looks good.

Overall he looks good... I still think the head's a bit to jowly, but really like the skin texture and paint work. I hope they revise the fabric on his robe; it's too loose of a weave. Hope it can look closer to this.

I've seen tons of bad ones, but there have been some pretty good one. The first one that comes to mind is Marf Masters repainted Medi. I think that one looks great. I put a few hairs on mine and I think it looks good. Though I'm not arguing that's what HT should have done here. I'm fine with what they did.

The robe is the only critique on this for me. I agree, too loose of a weave. Take the Medi robe and weather it and you've got a near perfect Yoda robe.

The open eyes sculpt hasn't captured that 'alive' quality the puppet had. Definitely displaying mine with force sculpt, looks great like that.

Imagine this will look tons better in display pics like toy hunters and upcoming cons.

Looks good. The only criticism I'd have is that he does look a little fat or "jowel-y" as some have put it.

I'm perfectly fine with Sideshow's though. I might spring for the light and box thing he comes with.

Oh, and :cuss that this wasn't the Old Han and Chewie full reveal!

This is awesome!!! I'm sure it will have changes at release time but this is an amazing start. Can't wait to add this to my shelves.

Wonderful! Two head sculpts, all the accessories, and the diorama base with the floating rocks. Really couldn't have asked for more.

It's really just SS's Yoda with better paint and a weathered robe.... I'm not blown away, but I'm still hoping that there will be improvements similar to that of Vader. I was hoping to see something really amazing.... oh well.

I really don't see the "superior than Sideshow" in the sculpt, looks about the same with some minor, very, very minor differences and it still is not that accurate to the actual puppet.

The paint on the other hand, makes it better and the clothing looks less toyish as well.

So yeah, better than Sideshow, but not by much.

I agree.

No snake...total fail. Easy pass now :rotfl

I think it looks great. Will pre-order right away if the second head is exclusive. If not I will wait for a coupon. In all seriousness though, i wish it did have a snake like the vintage figure.

Yeah, I think the same issues I have with the shape of the Sideshow head are still present here. But the HT does have some finer detailing to the sculpt and you know the final paint will be far above the Sideshow figure.

I'm not for sure going to buy this... but I'd say it's pretty likely as I've already bought most of the other OT releases.

Maybe someone can splice these together side by side and have a better comparison. I think the HT figure looks closer to the movie. I do hope they fix the roundness of his head though. I still think a modified/repainted Medicom looks much closer to the puppet than either of these two.
