I respect your point of view, but I don't agree with it - I'm not paying for plastic I'm paying for a correctly scaled figure. This is surely the most expensive way possible to buy plastic :)

To me the value comes from accuracy and the weight of plastic used is irrelevant. If anything I would feel like I'd got my money's worth more with a smaller figure because it's harder to manufacture something small.

Agreed. If Hasbro can make a 3 3/4" scale yoda correctly sized with great articulation and soft goods robes then HT should be able to as well.

Not from my experience. I've had 15 items so far from SS in the last year and only 1 has shipped the next day from payment. The rest have shipped from either the US or HK 5-7 days after payment is made..then taken 10 days to get to the UK with a $40 charge.

The difference being that your orders are shipping internationally, correct?

Customs slows stuff down. And we don't know how their process works for that. I doubt they are just being lazy or slow.

Sorry, you misunderstand. SS have only on one occasion sent my order the day after I have paid in full. The remaining have all been sent from their chosen warehouse up to a full week after the paid date. The item then has to get to me which is about 10 days due to the service chosen and charged by SS. UK Customs has never had my item for longer than a day. Being in the UK and having customs has no bearing on the slow process of sending out my orders.

This Yoda could've been a sold out for US$160. Price is excessive no doubt. Clothes are easy to make, there is nothing fancy about this figure except the head. By the way, open eyes head is not spot on, still no perfect 1/6 Yoda. Meditation head is great, that is what saves the figure from being a shelf warmer. Still on the fence for this. I don't have a Yoda figure and this is an iconic character. Might use some of my rewards points to aliviate the pain of paying too much.

I don't get the hate against this figure, we're never gonna get better let's face it! Absolutely no need for Hot Toys to make another Yoda and can't see anyone else topping HT!

Yes he's a little over priced but what figures aren't these days?

SSC figures tend to ship out around the time they're charged for me. But they take 5 business days or so to get here usually.

It is sold out in most non-SSC outlets. . .

If Chalor is in the US I'm not sure your experience applies.

Very curious to see how this lack of availability plays out.

Yep... it could easily be a case of trying to make them look scarce while making a **** ton of them. But it's HT so they could also drastically underestimate the demand for this figure.

If this plays out in the usual pattern, once SS gets their stock and sorts/ships to know what they have left, the waitlist will be filled and then lifted and the figure will be available again for order.

So far this figure looks awesome, granted some think its abit off but its still a pretty darn good piece. As for price, yes its a bit overpriced I think it would be better suited at that $160USD range myself. Overall though I cant wait to get mine.

I think for $150-$160 I would have made the purchase already. It at $200 I still sit here on the fence.

Same here, at $160 I likely would have pre-ordered by now. Everybody has different feelings about whether it's worth it or not. True it looks like the best 1/6 Yoda so far, and not likely to get another figure anytime soon. Still deciding, but it might sell out before I make up my mind.

any min now SS will wait-list this im sure of it, another reason why i POed when i could recently. anytime a new figs ships and its thread is located near top of section due to popularity they notice and act. my theory at least.:lol or more collectors are swayed into a purchase... lol more likely that.

It's more likely that they will make a bunch and he'll be available $40-50 cheaper down the line. But knowing I would never be able to stomach paying more than retail I decided to go ahead and get him, as he's pretty much essential to the collection.

If on a budget you could always sell off one of the head sculpts to make him more affordable.

Got mine the other day from Sideshow and just had a chance to open it. I love the little guy. I added the Sideshow Yoda base and snake. Happy to finally have a Yoda on display.

I wouldn't be so sure. More and more Hot Toys figures seem like they're selling out sooner. Especially lately. I'm wondering if they've cut back production numbers to avoid having to sell at a loss.
