I respect your point of view, but I don't agree with it - I'm not paying for plastic I'm paying for a correctly scaled figure. This is surely the most expensive way possible to buy plastic :)

To me the value comes from accuracy and the weight of plastic used is irrelevant. If anything I would feel like I'd got my money's worth more with a smaller figure because it's harder to manufacture something small.

My sentiments also. I pay for accuracy, not the volume of plastic.

Just opened mine, very happy with it. So it's $200 plus shipping but it does have 2 heads and it has nearly every accessory I can imagine it should have, I already have the sideshow dagobah.

I'm also surprised at how nice the base looks. I'm thinking about getting another one to make an evil yoda. But first I have to dig my old sideshow and medicom versions to see if I can use the spare head.
I think Hot Toys will make the prequel version at some point, its like a license to print money.

I think one reason why I'm on the fence is that I am waiting to see how Ripley turns out (which is one my purchase list), if she falls "short" it would make Yoda a more easier decision

I think for $150-$160 I would have made the purchase already. It at $200 I still sit here on the fence.

As a fellow Canadian, I feel your pain. Were I a big Yoda fan, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but as it is I don't need this in the collection at any price. I guess we have to let our fandom decide.

Other than one or two exceptions, my orders have always been shipped the day I get charged.

Thanks! Well, I'm in the US..so I'm just hoping I get lucky and it ships next week. Unfortunately I'm on the East Coast, so it'll still take another 8 days to receive via horse drawn carriage that Sideshow uses.

I don't get the hate against this figure, we're never gonna get better let's face it! Absolutely no need for Hot Toys to make another Yoda and can't see anyone else topping HT!

Yes he's a little over priced but what figures aren't these days?
Indeed. I'm an artist, perfectionist, super OCD, neurotic kind of guy....and I have absolutely nothing to complain about with this set. I was pretty much content with the old Hasbro Yoda. It was just a clump of plastic with a robe on it, but it has a more accurate likeness/paint job than the Sideshow one. What I do think is over-the-top ridiculous is the prices they charge on the astromech droids. At least R2 came with ALOT of accessories. The other 3 are 90-99% R2 copies w/out the gadgets.

I live on the East Coast as well and SS has always billed and shipped the same day. It usually gets to me in 5 business days. The email confirmation is usually delayed, but if you log into your account you can see if it was shipped yet.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I'll make sure to log in and check from now on.

Thought I could hold off on this.

But maximus' photos and hearing the music in my head and picturing the scene when he raises the X-wing have made me crumble and order from evilbay.

As most have already stated great figure. I did the water treatment on him in order to make his robe flow more realistically. Not to keen on the pose just yet. Will mess with him some more soon.

That's the best I've seen him looking so far, Enzo!!
He can look slightly "chubby" with the robes left as they are...
Really think that water treatment makes all the difference...
And the hair looks much better as well... Slightly 'frizzy'...
Did you just spray him with the head on and leave him to dry?

Got mine in a couple of days ago... Love the little green weirdo...
All his hair fell out from the closed eye sculpt, but I'm not crazy about the rooted hair anyway...

Thanks so much Jedi. I agree most of my pieces got through some typ of water treatment. With the exception of certain materials such as Leah, Luke and Han. Those seem to be materials that don't work with water treatment. I don't like undressing my figures with fear that I may not get the clothes on as well as they came In the box. I typically will just soak them with a spray bottle. Then i go to work pulling the material down so it looks more realistic. It tend to dry exactly as you left it. The key is to get them int he poses u like first then soak them and do the clothes. Then i put them in my display semi wet and let dry this way they dry Exactly the way i want. Once you start touching them again the clothes get loose. As far as the head i did not use water but just took my finger and swirled it aoriund to make it frizzy. I like the yoda with crazy hair.

Interesting... So underneath the hair (which is glued and not rooted?) is sculpted and painted hair? So if it falls out (or should I say off) it still looks okay; or perhaps some might prefer it without the "real" hair and could remove it?

Yeah, Yoda definitely needs crazy hair... The problem is there is just too much of it on the figure and it's glued straight down which just looks odd...
The thing that works really well is that the water treatment makes the robes cling to the body and then the proportions of the head to body are just perfect...
Yours really does look great... Totally stealing that pose!!

Yup...
The hair on the closed eye sculpt fell off almost immediately, revealing the original sculpted hair underneath which actually doesn't look too bad...
The rest of the hair just came off in my fingers leaving a tiny bit of glue residue which also came off easy...
I think the rooted hair was definitely in response to people's comments and is really a bit of an afterthought...
I've already got a replacement on the way from SS which means I'm going to have to destroy this one...
Breaks my heart to have to smash his little green head!!

Great pics guys. I got mine yesterday and want to do the water treatment. Swapped the head on my SSC version in Luke's backpack. So much better.

Great photos! What body did you use for your custom Luke Dagobah Figure? And where did you get the blue backpack from?
