There's that possibility, too :lol Maybe movie Thanos is just 7' and HT said "let's make him 6 inches taller in 1/6 form since we made our Hulk 8'6" and not 8'!"

:lol

Slight difference in depth...

should be close enough to 38cm.... would be around 7'6" at 1:1 scale

If nobody buys them, how are they expected to survive as a company until then? Just make one off's of every character?

Yep, they're going to wait until 2025 and then blitz us with definitive versions of every Marvel character. They will all light up, talk and pose themselves. But they will all cost the same as a new Lambourghini (in 2025).

I gladly spent my reward points on this. As well as credit i had from my big chap bust . Cost me $275 out the door and i couldnt be happier. Size wise i can see thanos ending up being 16-17 inches tall. Only because lately he has been portrayed as being only about a foot or so shorter than hulk. So if hot toys takes tgis route he will end up being an imposing figure. Hulk is also listed at only being 8 feet tall...thanos at 6'7. So for scale hulk at 18 and thanos at 17 would make sense. Only thing im really crossing fingers for is a surprise smirking second portrait. Otherwise im pleased with my order.

This HT's version will be below 15 inches though...

That throne is just so unnecessary, I'm not saying don't offer it but this price tag is outrageous and due in no small part to that LED throne. They would sell a lot more if they offered just the basic figure as well, similar to what they did with Robocop.

Hes already listed at 15 inches so i could never understand reasoning if he was smaller. Who knows though. He will still look imposing in my display setup so no worries.

Yeah no kidding. It'll stay in the box so I'd much rather have a solo Thanos for $80 cheaper.

The height seems completely random. Thanos is 6-7 in the comics, but 7-6 in the HT/MCU (at least for now :lol). The Hulk is between 7 and 8 feet tall in the comics, but 8-6 in the Whedon movies.

As for the accessory, Thanos does nothing but sit in his throne in Guardians, isn't that right? HT could sell the figure separately, but it wouldn't be screen accurate, nor nearly as profitable.

I agree. although I WILL be buying the figure & throne, I think they should've had the option for those who just wanted the figure

The standard HT platform is exactly 28.2cm.... All other measurements are based off that...

Ok. Maybe I am mistaken but from what I know you can't extrapolate numbers from a photo in that way unless you have a lot more info. First and foremost the lens, camera and focal length used. I'm no expert in digital photo forensic science but I ve heard a few lectures and things like that. I do know from my own photography experience that relative distance makes a huge inpact. As does the lens distortion.

I'm only asking and bring this up becuase someone is going to see the photo and assume or believe it's 100% accurate. Statistically multiple people. So I just want to be sure what info your using. You may in fact be a digital forensics expert. Lol which is why I'm asking. Lol

Edit-I called a videographer friend out of curiosity. He said unless you know the camera and focal length and lens(metadata) and the distance exactly from the lens to an object you can not get true sizes. There are ways to estimate if parts of those information is missing, or if you use some crazy algorithms he tried to explain. But that way it's depicted on your post wouldn't work. He texted me an image example of how this can be applied. I'll post it if anyone cares. But it shows how the way you did it in the post is not reliable. He said there's a whole field devoted to this stuff. Photogrammetry

They don't tend to really stick to heights all that much for comic characters. I mean in XMen isn't Wolverine meant to be 5'4" or something? Cyclops is meant to town over him, yet Hugh Jackman is bigger than James Marsden lol

They just want to make Hulk and Thanos these huge, imposing figures. Same with Hulkbuster also.
