As I mentioned before (and I guess by other posters here), even those who are in love with the throne and having Thanos on it better not keep him seated for long periods, unless HT can guarantee that Thanos' skirt won't get deformed/cracked/etc if bent at extended periods, so yeah I can see a lot of people keeping it in box.

Does Thanos have any rubber material we don't know about?

There's reports of cranking rubber on Robocop rubber arms/elbow joints... already. Gotta keep him in museum pose.

Stiff figure with little to no articulation can be all yours for 450$ with shipping! !!

Just remember, the figure is so awesome that it can't even sit on his own chair without ruining it!

Enjoy!

Sincerely,
Hot Toys

Thanks for re-posting. I brought up this point but could only attribute it to a "previous poster", since I was too lazy to go back and find the original. I think this is very much a valid concern and honestly (thinking of ED-209 and RoboCop) I would expect deformation in Thanos' costume from a long time throne pose, sadly. ED was about the same price as this figure and HT cheaped out on the dome materials, so I would expect the same here. :/

That's a bit over-dramatic... 22 points of articulation isn't "little to no" articulation... And people are just assuming sitting in the chair will ruin some part of it... we've only seen the proto.

Thanos: "The only matter I do not take seriously, is toy collectors. Their politics bore me! Their demeanor is that of a pouting child."

EVERYTIME I see him I wish I could fast forward time to 2018 I wanna see this dude whoopin *** already...lmao

yes, from the prototype at toy soul, the skirt already looks like on the verge of cracking!
may be we should take thanos for a stroll every day or two, sit for long period wont do him any good.

I wish his feet were actually on the ground rather than having his toes poking out. It looks like even the articulation in his knees won't let him bend that much. Right now this is a pass. The figure is due out in 2016 so there's plenty of time in between to reconsider basing off of other releases.

This is also a prototype. Who knows what will change between now and nov. Im hoping any forseeable issues will be dealt with. ( hopefully hahaha )

It seems to be getting worse and worse with a lot of these figures.

Because HT's history with rubber isn't getting better. People thought that after all the complaints and whines and demands from the very day the cracking/rotting of the dome on ED209 ver 1 was first reported to the time ED209 ver 2 starts shipping, HT would have listened. But no. What we got were ED209s with rotting rubber parts way more prematurely than the first version. So yeah, expect the paranoia and the backlash to be much worse.

And it doesn't stop with ED-209, as poor Plastic Bateman discovered with his Robocop:

And the extent of rubber on that figure goes beyond just the elbows and knees:

Robo has more rubber than Johnny factory! :panic:

I hate to see toys as a short term hit, and anything I spend money on I want to last. Or else the good feeling I get from them becomes instead one of concern.

Yeah. Saw those, too. HT should've labeled Robo as "RUBBER" instead of "Die-Cast".

Seriously, if HT insists on using rubber parts, then at least give us quality rubber. It's baffling that my soon-to-be-26-year-old all-rubber Batman figure that my late aunt bought me for under $2 when Batman 1989 was just about to hit the theaters is still in perfect condition despite being displayed in an open shelf, but the $400 ED 209 2.0 is rotting inside the box. For Thanos I knew that he won't be $300 like Hulk. I knew he'd be $400, with that throne. But $400 is no joke no matter if this is the first high-end 1/6 Thanos and that fans are rejoicing. They want $400, give us $400 worth at least in longevity of the product.

I hope the naysayers to the naysayers aren't overlooking the fact that the harshest of HT's critiques do know how to eat their words and praise HT if praise is due. Just check the QS001 1/4 TDKR Batman and TASM2 threads. Those 2 sections were like hell on the internet back in the day, and quite the opposite at present.

Yes, there's no sense in being partisan when the reality is that different companies are capable of bringing to production both good and bad figures.

Credit where credit is due, and criticism alike.

I suppose today, with the higher pricing and history of development, we expect the major companies to get things right every time. It's frustrating when they fall short on something right after hitting something else out of the park.

Then there are certain figures from major companies that make you scratch your head and ask, "How did they let that happen?"

Looking at my displays I count a dozen different companies being represented. Some of the smaller and cheaper ones sometimes seem to show more commitment or enthusiasm.

Across those dozen companies there are good and bad aspects to figures. So every figure should be judged on its merits and demerits regardless of the company that produced it.

Come on now. Your saying it's on the verge...which means it's not and if it's not that means your guessing that maybe it might one day. Silly.

As for hot toys rubber issues...yes there have been some issues with some of the figures. But we have no idea if it's a large or small percentage. I know it's not every figure..as I have the ed209 and it's perfect. And a local shop has the mk1 and three mk2s. Though one is customized like a 60s hippy van so maybe there's an issue but hard to tell. Lol anyway, that's 5 I know of that are fine. So it's not a total failure. And given that it's total it could have just been a bad batch of rubber. It happens. The last two times I've replaced tires for my suv and my car out of the 8 tires 3 where bad and falling apart right off the shelf. And both vehicles get good high end tires. The car I use top of the line best on the market tires. And it was the one that two out of the four where bad. So it can happen that a batch of rubber is bad or has some impurities that react with the paint...whatever.

I don't think it's a massive deal. It's a bit to early to say that a figure is bad or low quality when it has not even been made yet.

I just saw this picture. All I can think of is that it costs $400 bucks but it won't even sit on the chair right. This figure is a waster of money dudes. Wait for the next version.

Wow, this thread has taken a nose dive of negativity :(

I just checked CDUK and he's up for £305. Double the price of Gamora but you know what? I don't care! He's gonna look so awesome with my other HTs, I cannot wait.

Just look at that head sculpt! There's no way I'm going to risk missing out on this in the hope of getting a better version later. It could end up like Loki. I'm sure I'll find a way to get him a Gauntlet.
