Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I've studied the prototype pictures and imo it doesn't look like at all that this will have a feature where his head pulls back to reveal another armor head and/or body. Also, thinking in terms from a business stand point, this is going to be the most expensive figure to date. You want people to buy as many as possible, so you can't keep the price tag too high. Eliminating features like this is a good way to do that. Limit the accessories, limit the features, but try and keep it as articulated as you can and hopefully that will help make the price somewhat reasonable.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I prefer the short & blunt delivery as opposed to the open Thesaurus, fairy-tale-story-in-every-post-without-actually-making-a-point delivery others prefer to use here. ;)

You get I was just joking with you, right? Or as my thesaurus says...banter, chaff, deceive, deride, fool, frolic, fun, gambol, horse around, jape, jest, jive, jolly, josh, kid around, laugh, make merry, mock, needle, play, play the clown, play tricks, poke fun, pull one's leg, pun, put on, quip, rag, revel, rib, ridicule, roast, spoof, sport, taunt, trick, wisecrack

Unless there are folks who know specifically about toy engineering at this point we are all speculating. My preference would be to have the top of the Iron Man XLIII represented as a reveal, similar to how it has been shown in the trailer. NOT the full figure-in-figure, which from the looks of the design doesn't even look feasible, but again I'm not a toy design engineer. I would venture to guess (and it's only a guess) that HT will have the flip open helmet with the 43 head reveal underneath. There might be a little more torso, who knows. It's also possible the helmet will be fixed with nothing underneath. That wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me either. I'm only talking about what I would like in a premium figure that might end up costing $800+. Whether or not the insert 43 helmet/torso feature is an exclusive or something else is will come down to Hot Toys's negotiations with its distributors. My only point was that it would be a highly valued EX that would practically guarantee immediate sell-though and demand higher prices in the secondary.

fine I'll stop :crying

Please don't. You are a unique collector that I will never figure out.

BTW: I spent about 15 minutes making the movie posted for you and you never posted a word :(

But it would cost HT a bomb and these will sell through, regardless. Also, there is no benefit to SSC or HT if their super expensive pie-in-the-sky exclusive demands more cash on e.Bay. There's just no incentive to do it and it would make the regular run less desirable. Don't think one needs to be in the business to see this is not going to happen.

Link? I may have just overlooked it by mistake

If there were an exclusive, yes, it would be highly sought-after and "valuable," but wouldn't it be really inexpensive to make? Something that's nice to have, but not essential to the figure? Say, I don't know, a rocket that HB fires at the Hulk or something.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

Again .... we'll see the design, features, specs and pricing (and exclusive if there is one) when the figure is put up. Until then, everything else is sheer speculation.

We know.... but speculation is fun :banana

Usually it is... except when folks take this stuff way to seriously and everyone is an armchair "expert" at engineering, design, pricing models, etc. The only thing that really matters is will/won't you buy it.

As stated a few times...a couple of us do have the knowledge you are talking about. And I consider myself one of them. I'm not gonna go into why again. I stated that a few times. U want to know you can find the posts or PM me.

As for the exclusive with sideshow...again, not going to happen. The only exclusive would be one that's an add on, not one that is structurally different than any other. And yes, that's contracted. But also even if it where not, it's common sense. The engineering required to make it happen are crazy for next to no price increase.

The secondary price increase you brought up is pointless for sideshow and hot toys. They don't make any money from it. Not directly. And very limited effect even indirectly. It's not something that would effect any design or sales choice.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

You watch walking dead? If so...you know your Shane right? Specifically I mean about the right idea, poor delivery. lol I agree with your underlying theme. No way it's going to happen. Feel free to wish. But you called a bunch of people names just becauthet think differently. Unnecessary really. Not trying to start a fight. Just making an observation. I agree with you most the time, but there's a saying...doin' to much. Lol

I do, and shane was my favorite character :lol

The only way someone takes offence to my statement is if they honestly, truely believe and expect the be able to insert and remove a $345 metal iron man from a possibly $800+ figures interior... That is one of the dumbest things you could possibly expect hot toys to do. People need to be realistic, its nice to dream, but at least acknowledge the fact its a dream

Nope, this would be a total nightmare for me. :lol Scratches! Scrapes! Nicks! Dings! PAINT RUB! :mwaha

Not really, he makes the assumption that unless youre a working toy engineer you cant possibly know the process... Like im not a lawyer so I cant possibly know my rights or laws...

People think that because you see something on screen, it can be that way in real life, cgi is a cheat.

Hello everyone , I just wanted to chime in and put my two cents in. I was there when they were inserting HB into the display case and got to speak with the gentleman that was holding HB. He said that it had some articulation but was very limited....he also that the head was not removable it was one solid torso piece.
