I sometimes think it's not that there are more difficult than others. It's more that we are so familiar with their faces because we've seen their movies so many times. Doubly so with Han / Indy.

I think Robert Downey Jr. is at that level of familiarity now too.

Maybe. I dunno.

That might be part of it, but they also have a couple of faces that seem to look very different depending on the expression or angle or lighting. And they don't really have the typical square-jawed Hollywood look either.

Jnix Luke in the house. Just a couple quick pics:

The Jnix sculpt is looking better each time I see it. After seeing it more and more, I believe it's only the wide, sunken in eyes that is holding it back a bit.

That's the best I've seen it look. Photoshop?

Well the thing is QuiGon is kind of like a magician with the light and angles. Anyone remember when he turned

Nice shooting as usual QuiGonFishing. If I could send ya a rep I would!

The video to me showed clearly just how eerily good the Jnix Han is - and how eerie the Jnix Luke is. It's got some good Hamill in there, but it's unsettling to look at for some reason. The eyes are strange in a few different ways - in both sculpt and paint.

I noticed this angle in that video. I think what people have been saying about the too-deep placement of the eyes may be right:

He looks dead. Lay him down, head cocked to the side, and Red 5's down. The eyes are too far inset, large and maybe a smidge too low. As I said with the SS Pilot Luke, he's as flawed as HT, but in different ways. I can see where one would replace Han, even if it's not completely necessary. Not sure I would spring for it based on what's available.

Lol! I think that's a little harsh. But yeah it does have issues. It does look good in person.

I loved Jnix's Han but I don't know why anyone would prefer that over Ht's Luke, especially the stormtrooper version which is excellent. That said, I think the best alternative would be a DX07 knock off.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. They're so radically different yet equally off in terms of Hamill's likeness. I think the Hot Toys is maybe closer, but I definitely think it looks better. Jnix's sculpt looks a bit too much like a caricature of Hamill, and while Hot Toys just looks a bit too generic it looks like a normal person. I don't mean to **** on Jnix's sculpt, but it just looks weird to me, almost like one of those creepy claymations from certain angles.

I decided to sell this Luke recently. It's nice being the first Luke appearance and all, but the head sculpt just doesn't work for me and was never really sold on the Jnix one like I was with the Han sculpt.

There will be more Luke's in the future with better head sculpts than this one, and I don't need more than one or two versions of him. I'm keeping the Stormtrooper version. I'll mostly keep that as a Stormtrooper, though I'm sure I'll throw the head on every once in a while.

Beyond the headsculpt, the other thing that people never seem to mention in terms of the overall look of the HT Luke is the tunic - it's more than a half inch too short and isn't baggy enough, and it's probably 50% of what you are looking when viewing the HT Luke.

I swapped it for a modded Hasbro tunic (the sleeve ends have to be unpicked to lengthen the sleeves, but it's pretty easy) and it looks great IMO. It has the length, the bagginess and flows pretty well. It actually saved me from reselling the figure because it has a lot more farmboy Luke vibe to me than before.

:lol That was always my initial issue--the tunic. Doesn't have any weight to it, which is more a function of the scale, but so important with this particular outfit.

Well, to each their own. Thankfully, our collections are all our own, free to do what we want with and we all don't share one large collection on here that everyone contributes to. :lol
