This figure reminds me of the 90s Kenner POTF figure, she was the rarest one out of the whole v1 bunch wasn't she

Good work. You now can see its useless.
Now sign up for the Leia dress project.
No, I didn't! I have no idea when the last time was that I wandered into that sub-forum. So this Yunsil gal does great work? No pic of what the dress will look like but everyone is confident that it will turn out great?
She's Top Notch, TOP NOTCH!
Imagine this figure with a screen accurate dress, then consider the alternative and what you have is a no brainer.
Oh yeah, monkey faced POTF Leia. She was rare, but a truly awful figure once you got her lol. Mind you they were all bad, but in the Star Wars wasteland of the early 90s, we took what we could get.
This one...?
Yeah, I remembered buying it after school, good times. It's not up to today's standards, but it served its purpose back then
God, she's ugly there. What a disservice. I can't believe I have this.
So a quick soaking of the dress, iron out some of the unsightly wrinkles and took off the crappy underskirt thing and I'm a lot happier with her now. Was worth the 45 mins it took me.

To me that looks fine. Taking off the undershirt thing is definitely the way to go. It could (should) have been a better outfit but I would hesitate to upgrade it with a dress that costs more than the original figure. I also think that taking stitches out around the waist can improve the way it hangs.
I have an extra figure I bought to make a slave Leia I may turn the outfit into a ceremonial dress. OT but if you want to see Carrie looking heartbreakingly young, fresh and optimistic then google the studio shots of her in that dress. She looks (healthily) podgier and just more natural than in most ANH publicity shots.
Yeah I agree, I'm sure the custom dress will be a vast improvement over the HT one but I can't justify spending any more on this figure. I'll just look forward to the next HT Leia which id really like to be her in her Bespin escape look.To me that looks fine. Taking off the undershirt thing is definitely the way to go. Yeah, I really hope HT does an ESB Leia - either one is fine with me.
The issue with the custom ANH dress price for me is the fact that Leia's costume seems silly-simple - it's like a piece of white fabric loosely wrapped around her. I intellectually understand there's a lot more to making it, but at the same time I feel like if I could find the perfect white fabric that draped right, 80% of the work would be done.
A 1/6 Indy leather jacket for $250+ I can get my head around because you can see all the work, and it's leather, but a baggy white smock in 1/6 just doesn't feel the same "value" - or something. I guess what I'm saying isn't very helpful to anyone.
If the pattern itself is fine and it's only a matter of finding a slimmer fabric, i have a place local to me that makes wedding dresses. I feel confident that when i get Leia in hand, i can go to them.
They'll all laugh at me... But they will help, lol.
