1/6 Hot Toys - MMS378D17 - The Avengers: Iron Man Mark VI Collectible Figure

This will be my first and only Iron Man 1/6 figure.

...and I've wanted one since HT very first started doing them, so I've been waiting a long time to be in a position to get one! I'm so pleased I'm getting such a cool looking one!

I don't really 'collect' figures in the same way that most of you guys do (the "I'll buy everything HT releases" attitude) ....I'm more..
mixed, in what I collect. This is some of my stuff behind me in my studio where I paint my commissions. Helmets, 1/6 TARDIS with The Doctor,
actual bank note from the Serenity movie, license plates, lightsaber made with a vintage Graflex camera flash just like the first ones were... and so on. A random mix.


But I DO need a good Iron Man figure... and I'm glad it's this one! Can't wait!

I think most of the iron man armors are a bit of an eyesore, but the VI and the Mark I are exceptions. The only other armor I would want would be comic version of silver centurion and hulkbuster, which is out of my budget and no space for him.

Clutter is bad, I should really look to getting rid of some stuff. I've seen worse though.

When this figure finally arrives, my small Iron Man collection will be complete.

War Machine MKI - because it best resembles the classic War Machine look.
Iron Man MK XLVI - because it has the circular reactor and the sleek look of the post-Extremis armors in the comics
Iron Man MK VI - because it has the triangle reactor and the chunkier, more mechanical aesthetic of the early Iron Man MCU appearances.

The three coolest armors so far, in my opinion. If I ever get another one, it'll probably be the MKV.

Just got a question.. about to put in a pre-order for this bad boy. I've never owned an Iron Man armor before, can this do the 3 point landing pose? It's not pictured in any of the promo photos? I'm wondering because since it's a new release, did they improve/re-do the articulation of the figure?

Its likely it can, or at least something close, but nobody can say for sure as there hasn't really been much information on this one.

I'm thinking about changing the final flex payments on this to one payment but I've never done that before, could someone please confirm to me how that works? Does the remaining balance plus shipping just get charged once SS receives the figure and is ready to ship?

That's exactly how it works. I do it all the time.

I was at STGCC last weekend and the only 3 Diecast figures shown were Mk. II, V and XLVII. Sorry

Wonder what is going on with this? I was hoping it wasn't being shown because it was releasing shortly,
but no word from Hot Toys besides it being on the schedule for Q4 this year.

I’d keep my hopes up but my expectations low. Not at SDCC (big for HT, NA) not at ACGHK (HUGE for HT, HK) not at Marvel Pop up (new, but big for HT, Japan) not at STGCC (biggest display since the con’s inception, SE Asia).

If it’s not shown at NYCC in October then I’d imagine it’ll be delayed until next year.

Yeah it only took HT 7-8 years to get RDJ’s likeness down.

Definitely weird. They already rolled out the prototype last year (can't remember which show) so it's odd that it's been absent for the past couple of events. Why couldn't/wouldn't they just show the same one? It's even more weird that both the Mk5 and Mk2 are at these events, both of which come out after the Mk6.

Not going to look into it too much until HT misses the Q4 release or states it's delayed. Honestly, it wouldn't be that big of a deal for me if it's delayed, as long as it's because they're improving on it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the Mk. XLVII also scheduled to be released after the Mk. VI? I know that it’s a simple repaint but it was at STGCC as well.

It's a diecast iron man. They almost never make the estimated date.
