While waiting for the HT Warrior to come :) I thought I'd share these photos, I almost forgot I had them. These are pictures of an Aliens Warrior actor suit that was on display at MGM Studios, Florida, when I went there last September.

Man, those latex suits have really deteriorated over the years. Even the ones that Bob Burns has that Les has shown us pictures of.

Ya, I wish it wasn't behind glass, it was so dark in the room I had to use my flash so there were only so many good views I could get. It would seem too that there was no integration of the inner jaw on some suits, like for the stunt work where they never used the jaw, but it was still cool to see. Being a movie buff, MGM was my favorite place in FL. I saw the original Skiff from Return of the Jedi, a Snowspeeder, the bone cages for POTC2, lots of cool movie props, sadly many thrown somewhere to fade into oblivion one day.

Hard-ass Hudson, he looks GREAT Josh! Congrats. :D

And yeah, the FL Head fits the HT helmet better than the Chronos.

Be that as it may and Josh's exceptional talent notwithstanding, I don't think the sculpt resembles Bill Paxton very much.

Thanks Paul, yeah... I might really have to go ahead and buy this one for myself. Really does look cool standing next to Hicks and myself on the shelf. Maybe I could just switch out the Chronos and this one depending on the mood I want for him. :lol

Yep, switching out is a great option. It looks even more like Paxton sans helmet, but yeah, that dude is ready to do battle with that badass tatted out Marine Church!

I guess for now I'll be dealing with this guy... btw, I painted all my Marine mic arms with a silver sharpie, they were silver.

That's pretty much the same feeling I get. After seeing a great (good job Josh) repaint of this particular sculpt, I'm feeling the Chronos one more as a better representation of the character. I was watching the movie last night, and with Hudson, he's always got some emotion to him, be it the goofball, wise ass face, the "we're ****ed, game over" face, or the "you want a piece of me" face, but there aren't really any moments where he has a collectible-style dead face like this sculpt features.

Its really cool to see some actual production shots of this figure. And while I agree he doesn't look very accurate, its still a great looking figure. And its not like its so off that someone would have to ask what the Alien is :lol

I still don't see what people are b!tchin about. It's not like this is Faramir or Yavin Luke. Now THERE'S something to cry about.

I also get some pleasure at seeing DekDave bothered by people criticizing a figure he likes... makes me feel warm and fuzzy after his whine-fests over on the Yavin Luke thread :lol
(and just to be clear I do mean this in a joking manner :duff)

Well I managed to sway Les' opinion and now he's buying. Yeah, I have the SAME criticism about this figure as everyone else but since we already tried to get Howard Chen and Hot Toys to change it and it was too late, I've learned to live with it.

And this isn't like the trainwreck that was Yavin Luke. The Alien still looks badass, Yavin Luke looks like a twink-boy.

And I hope for your sake you are kidding GB, seeing as how we are on the same, ahem, "team."

I feel fairly secure in my "sakes" :lol But empathy is a wonderful tool for us to learn; berrating a figure you don't like doesn't do much good and isn't pleasant for others to endure.

Hot Toys colored glasses seem to be in stock these days as well :monkey3

Please. I never had anything against the criticism because I AGREED with it. I just didn't care because it still looked f'n cool. No rose colored glasses here. btw - I'm no longer the Anti-Josh. :lol

:lol Nice, yeah I had noticed the anti-josh being gone. Definitely like the new avatar. Too bad the CRM version of Alex is so damned expensive.

OK guys I'm at a loss about the "Chronos" Hudson head? What is the Chronos? Is it from a seller on eBay, or can I get it from an online retailer? Please let me know. Also what is the "FL head" for Hudson? Where can I get that one? I painted the Hudson head I got from Chris at EVA Models, and I'm very happy with it. But, I haven't superglued the head to the neck post...yet. The idea of the ability to change out Hudson's head is a good one. I wouldn't mind having one more head that shows him in a different mood...since his mood changed so much in the movie. Let me know where to get the Chronos head, and about how much it is. I really appreciate it! Thanks! Here's a picture of the unpainted custom Hudson head I got from Chris Chulamanis at EVA Models.

Here's one picture of that head I finished painting. I still have to gloss the eyes and spray the head with some matte coating spray.

Here's one picture of my painted "hero head" for Hicks I got from Lonnie Hale. I have some touch up to do on it, but I think it's looking great. Yeah, it's not the infamous "Stoner" head, or the repainted Hot Toys Hudson head, but I really like it. I stuck it on Hudson's body this weekend to get a few pictures of it. I hope to get another Hudson soon, and make a custom Hicks from a Hudson. :D

I can help you imformationally here, JediMike, as I am the "supplier" as it were, of the Chronohead...
I will say this, since Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder, then, whichever head you like best, is best. No favorites among friends. I like the Frontline head, although I haven't had the chance to paint one. I don't want it for MY Hudson, as it lacks drama. The likeness is there, but not as strong in my eyes as others say. I cannot think of Hudson without that Drama. The EVA one from Chris has plenty of Drama, and I have painted one of those.
(Pic coming...), so that leaves this one.
I will try to be careful how I mention this one, again, as I supply it, so use your own judgement, and know I am not trying to sell it, just show it. (And I like the changeout idea best! Have all for different moods...)

Here's the Chronohead.

Hope that helps you.
PM me if you are interested.
And again, I suggest using more than one if that suits you. This is a unique situation, having three heads for one character than can be changed out. Can't say that as much for all. Hicks is another maybe.

(Gotta change that "Louis out to LOUISE!)

Shipping update for Paul and those waiting for the warrior to get in Freaks hands.

My warrior from Toys2 went through customs or whatever it has to up in New York today, so to make the journey to Massachusetts, even with the 4th holiday, I should get him by Friday :)
