Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

haha I enjoyed seeing the Black Order again and it was fun to see how the met their second ends. I actually lauged when Giant Man stepped on Cull lol

Enjoyed that.

If my fav theater has cleared out this weekend, might go for #4 view. Some people may have a premium home theater system, but not me.:monkey2

Edit: Jeez all the good seats are pretty much gone at my fav theater for Sunday!:horror Unless I want the 2 front rows - sure glad I saw it 3 x already:drink

Hoping for another viewing this weekend myself! No home theater for me either, not even a freaking sound bar lol

Apparently some people are saying that the earthquake under the ocean is an Easter egg for Black Panther 2’s villain: Namor! That would be nice, but it seems a stretch.

I have an inexpensive Yamaha - even a cheap one really helps.

May wait to see it again till next weekend - like being close but not 2 rows from screen close.:horror

People complaining about the last episode of GOT are nuts. It was a little dark by design, but the episode itself was as grand as any big budget movie you'll ever see. Night Kings death scene was actually super cool and surprising. Man, you just cant please everyone I suppose!

JYE and Khev, you guys have to watch this series at some point. As huge fans of fantasy/sci-fi/comic movies, you owe it to yourselves lol

There are only 4 fantasy movies I need in my life:

LOTR trilogy
Conan the Barbarian 1

Not even Excalibur and Dragonslayer make the list!

I’m really dying to rewatch Dragonheart with Sean Connery again I only saw it opening night and loved it but never watched it again.

8 years of GOT are you freaking nuts lol

hahaha well your choices are excellent ones at least!

But believe me when I say it, GOT is most definitely worth the time. Typically short seasons with 10 episodes each except seasons 7 and 8 which are shorter). Excellent character and story development with very likable and hateable characters. Some of the best fantasy action and battles scenes ever (battle of the Bastards... sooooo good). Oh and lots of good looking naked people too lol

Jye what is best in life?
To ignore Game of Thrones
see the fans driven before you
and hear the lamentation of the women!

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

So Dr Strange said that they had 1 in 14 million chances to beat Thanos, and he gave Thanos the time stone and told Tony, it was the only way. I'm assuming Tony being the genius that he is, must have known that handing over the stone was "part of the plan" or done for a reason, since Dr. Strange wouldn't just hand over the one thing that Thanos needs to erase half of the universe in exchange for Tony's life.He must know that Strange didn't just do it to save him, unless he's needed to defeat Thanos. The last thing Strange tells Tony is that they're in the "endgame." In between the time Dr Strange gave Thanos the stone and the "endgame" quote, he must have told Tony something. Anyway, after IW, 5 years go by, and Tony does nothing, except for Pepper :)D), in all that time, he tried to move on, and accepted defeat. At no point does he question his lack of action, or what Strange did or said to him? It took a random rat and the plot of BTTF to get Tony involved? That makes no sense to me.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I think Tony was so traumatized by losing everyone around him, especially Spidey that he could not do anything except accept defeat and lick his wounds. Then when Cap and the team comes to him with their solution he realizes that there is a chance and he takes it.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Corvus being dispatched that quickly by Okoye surprised me, especially after seeing him battle Vision and Cap in IW. I definitely did a double take when that happened.

BTW, did anyone see Proxima Midnight in Endgame? I don't recall seeing her. Since they came from 2014, I suppose it's possible that she wasn't in Thanos's posse yet.

During the scene when Thanos turns to dust, I remember briefly catching a glimpse of Proxima and Corvus hugging each other as they disintegrated in the background, but I've only seen the movie once so I can't be certain.

I thought we were past the spoiler phase, but JIC:

Now that you mention it, I also remember seeing two figures hugging each other in the background, one who looked like Corvus. I didn't think it was him, but maybe he survived being stabbed in the chest by Okoye? IDK though, it sure looked like a fatal strike from where I was sitting.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I’m going to presume this thread is past the spoiler stage, and that everyone in here talking about the film has already seen it. If not, don’t read any further.

So after second viewing, my biggest question is: how was 2014 Nebula and Thanos able to travel separately through the Quantum Realm to 2023, off of one vial of Pym Particle (the one 2014 Nebula took from 2023 Nebula, that was good for only one trip)?

And it also occurred to me that the end battle at the Avengers compound could have been avoided if Nebula had just immediately retuned to the compound upon finding out that 2014 Thanos was now privy of the future, as opposed to trying to call someone and giving the 2014 cadre enough time to capture her.

The explanation I heard was that Ebony Maw & Thanos were both brilliant and easily reverse-engineered the Pym particles, then replicated/mass produced them for the entire army.

And it also occurred to me that the end battle at the Avengers compound could have been avoided if Nebula had just immediately returned to the compound upon finding out that 2014 Thanos was now privy of the future, as opposed to trying to call someone and giving the 2014 cadre enough time to capture her.

I wondered about that as well. When they interfered with her first attempt to return (when Rhodey left without her), I assumed they sent some type of signal or pulse via her neural network to block/neutralize the time GPS gadget. In other words, I just went with it. :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I posited the same question in the CM figure thread, and someone gave the same explanation for my first point: that the PP was reverse engineered. However, like I mentioned in that thread, some at least mild explanation would have been nice in that case. Even if it was just showing Thanos giving the vial that Nebula gave him to Maw, and telling him to replicate it. :lol

As for the second point, the rationale was that Nebula wanted to warn the other group (Hawkeye and BW), incase Thanos found them. However, like I also mentioned in that thread, 2014 Thanos didn’t know that the Soul Stone was on Vormir. Based on the events of IW, you’d think Nebula would know this. Unless she figured he might find out it’s on Vormir via recordings from her neural net.

I suppose everyone has a theory for the second point. :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

lol@ chewblacca

So I was supposed to have my 3rd and maybe even 4th viewing this weekend but my plans changed and I ended up having my 3rd AND 4th viewing TONIGHT!!! :thud:

Holy crap i’m just getting home lol

Good news movie holds up wonderfully!

Honestly this movie should’ve been called Captain America: End Game lol

It really is a love letter to him.

I loved the AOU call back of when IM, Vision and Thor do a triple laser beam strike on Ultron but this time it was on Thanos in the exact same manner.

Man Thanos wipes the floor with Thor lol

Ughhh, on my 3rd viewing there were a group of 4 (2 boys with 2 girls) in front of me that kept laughing out loud and laugh spitting (know what I mean) everytime there was a serious scene or at the deaths. Finally the entire auditorium told them to shut up.

On my 4th viewing 3 rows behind me these 2 white boys kept repeating over and over and over “Wakanda Forever” in T’Chala’s accent and laughing out loud at almost every scene transition so freaking infuriating someone got the manager who told them to cut it out which they did. Those 2 kids lucked out that the Terry Crews sized black guy in my row with his girl tolerated it lol
