Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I did read an article lamenting the decision to have Tony snap all the baddies, essentially doing what Thanos did but on a smaller scale. It argued that some of them were likely serving Thanos out of fear & Tony was as bad as Thanos to summarily judge them like that. IDK, maybe just snapping Thanos would have been a better call? Tony could have still died from his snap, reinforcing how truly difficult it was to kill Thanos.

Apart from his daughters and the Black Order, were any of Thanos' minions actually sentient? The Outriders were nothing more than dogs and the Chitauri don't seem to be really alive at all (based on how they all just fall dead as soon as that ship exploded in A1).

Were there other Minions? The final battle was so fast paced I did not notice them.

That's a good point. I'm pretty sure there were a few; I don't think the Outriders went to obedience school, so I find it hard to believe they sat there of their own volition waiting for Thanos's signal to attack; someone must have been holding them in check.

You know, thinking about Thanos's speech about wiping out everyone and starting over from scratch this time, weren't Ebony Maw & Corvus Glaive close enough to hear that? If so, you'd think they'd be like "F this, I'm switching sides. At least with The Avengers I've got a chance of surviving". :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Ebony Maw was a fanatical True Believer, so I’m not sure. Corvus I know nothing about, except I did see him get impaled and dropped by Okoye.

Maybe not. Maybe Godzilla loses to Ghidorah.... but then Godzilla goes back in time to beat him before he lost to him.

Sounds legit. But not before he does the Godzilla Dance.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

People complaining about the last episode of GOT are nuts. It was a little dark by design, but the episode itself was as grand as any big budget movie you'll ever see. Night Kings death scene was actually super cool and surprising. Man, you just cant please everyone I suppose!

JYE and Khev, you guys have to watch this series at some point. As huge fans of fantasy/sci-fi/comic movies, you owe it to yourselves lol

Well, would he remain a true believer when he hears that the boss is about to off him? I'm not sure either. :lol

Corvus being dispatched that quickly by Okoye surprised me, especially after seeing him battle Vision and Cap in IW. I definitely did a double take when that happened.

Agreed. Given they needed to wrap it up, sure some things will get rushed, but the Night King was always a backdrop to the real conflict. Just a very imposing backdrop.

I imagine things are about to get REAL tense.

BTW, did anyone see Proxima Midnight in Endgame? I don't recall seeing her. Since they came from 2014, I suppose it's possible that she wasn't in Thanos's posse yet.

My thoughts exactly!

NK and the dead were just a tool to unite armies and create a clear enemy for Cersei's forces. Albeit a very cool tool, and I can see why people would have liked to have seen more of them. I would have liked that too to be honest, but that would have just been fan service and most likely would have taken away time for other important aspects of the final season.

Yea she's in there helping lead the charge against the Avengers in the final battle.

I figure she had a Vibranium spear with magic nano-tech or something. I know she's lethal, but technically the Order should have outclassed her -- similar to the way they should have outclassed Black Widow. But hey, MCU rules are different. In the comics Widow is actually a super-soldier type, so it's just all over the place.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Yeah, she came running out first with Corvus once Thanos lowered his sword to start the Great War.

Yea she's in there helping lead the charge against the Avengers in the final battle.

OK, thanks. I'll have to keep an eye out for her next time.

Well that's why I was so surprised. In IW, Proxima was about to defeat both Okoye & Black Widow until Scarlet Witch dropped that Thresher thing on top of her. But since Okoye survived the snap, maybe somewhere in the next 5 years she had a Wakandan scientist upgrade her spear. :wink1:
