People liking or not liking this film based on tribal grounds is something I am suspicious about and, if the case, I would find quite lame.

Like it if you like it. Don't like it because SJWs hate it. Don't like it because you perceive that the anti-SJW position means you HAVE TO like it. Basically, there are sheep on both sides, don't be one. Make up your own mind.

Least that's what I plan to do. Not sure when I'll be seeing it.

Nicholson is ... unrealistically more dangerous then Ledger, imo.

I think a guy who stands his ground and says "Hit me!" is far more dangerous than "You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would ya?"

I wouldn't doubt that Nicholson's Joker would kill an entire city (as he tried) but I think Ledger's Joker was working his way toward that goal -- he would have had Bane's plot to take Gotham hostage in TDKR if Ledger lived.

I do believe that Ledger captured a far better balance between the real and the fantasy than Nolan did with the rest of his film. I could almost see Ledger going up against Keaton.... whereas I just can't imagine Bale confronting Nicholson.

I can, however, see Nicholson laughing at Bale.

I stated before i'm not a huge Batman guy, in fact he's one of my least favorite heroes. And i still loved this movie. I think it should be a one off and leave it there. (And JP's acting, i'm a sucker for good acting in this day and age)

Like i said film of the year? I don't know, but for me it was.
Now if they would only do a movie of this sorts with an older Peter Parker.

I think the stairs scene is what got me. All dreary and then BAM that music...... Perfect! JOKER!

Yeah the movie was perfect joker. Such a breath of fresh air from the dying art of movie going. Perfect addition to the iconic dc movies list . Right up there with Keaton Batman Reeves Superman and dark Knight trilogy

It?s amazing gas a stand-alone but almost begs for a sequel called Batman. The same thing with the same events but from a different perspective of Bruce and obviously a shifted timeline to see the effects of him as an adult and being Batman. I have chills just thinking about it

I have no interest in having this movie segue into The World of Batman.

I would, however, like to see new origins for other Gotham villains done like this movie. Imagine Riddler and Penguin and Two-Face with realistic origins from the 80's and 90's...

Like a ***** he came in after the movie and complained and cried Han is dead oh knows!.(**** it was one of the better parts of the movie) Then he made a YT video of him excited about TFA before the flick with flash cards no less, I seen enough of this double chinned middle aged guy enough by then....of course he can't stop. Now i'm around the same age maybe a few years younger, but this dude has got problems. Your think Arthur has issues, talk to Jye.

No, I knew it was going to be heavy, and was interested in how they were going to portray Joker. I won't say too much more as its just come out so don't want to risk any spoilers.
To give you some perspective, I love the John Wick trilogy, Deadpool etc, don't mind the violence in those types of movies, for me thats fantasy. The violence in this was realistic, not what you expect for DC/Marvel.

This was a character study psychological thriller based in a realistic world. It was exactly what is suppose to be and was virtually flawless. It seems you just don't like those type of movies and there is nothing wrong with that because the R rated movies you stated are completely different movies to this movie. I will give you another example there is violence in David Attenborough documentaries where they show lions hunting and ripping apart animals they are both violent but are different.

Poor Scorsese his biggest opening weekend ever was 41 million and Joker copies his movies and opens with 93 million.
