The last guy standing where Ip Man lays him down facing up with punches going in repeatedly from top. So good.

That scene might be my favorite fight scene in any martial arts movie ever.

The first time I saw the student who comes in at @ 2:20 get demolished I got chills :lol

I'm curious as to why the close-up of Ip's knuckles at the end of that fight show heavy grazing on the top two knuckles - suggestive of a karate style - rather than the bottom three - wing chun style.

It's a symbol of his rage calming down. Somewhere along those lines. Wing chun is a very passive style of fighting dealing with interception and reaction. It's one of the core fundamentals and philosophies embedded into Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do (Way of the Intercepting Fist)

You missed LJ's point I believe. He was saying that in the film Ip Man's top 2 knuckles are the one's torn and bleeding, when in Wing Chun you're taught vertical fist straight punches which would leave the other 3 knuckles torn and bleeding instead.

:exactly: It's been many years since I trained in wing chun and I may have forgotten most of what I ever learned - but after punching a leather pad for hours on end, day after day week in week out for years... I still remember how to punch :)

Leather pad...that would be nice. Stupid rice sacks filled with metal alloy pellets hurt :monkey4 :monkey4 :monkey4

Sounds like you picked your school for its authentic training regimen. I picked mine because of the instructor:

I got a Chen Zhen one coming along too. Seems like both this and the Chen Zhen one have a stiff neck.

Should I body swap both for better pose ability?

His fight against the guy in the alleyway on Killzone(SPL) tops that one.

along with his final battle against Collin Chou on Flashpoint.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH THESE TWO FIGHTS however possible. (its says embedding is disabled...go to youtube!)

I really love the Flashpoint fight, no denying that it's incredible.

The Ip Man 10 man scene is still my favorite. It might not be as flashy but the dramatic build up of the story up to that moment and the mind blowing coordination & techniques employed in that scene makes it my favorite. Plus being a WC student adds a little bit of bias too :D

Yank you got my PM? Also the reason I like the Flashpoint fight scene to the IP Man 10 Men one (which is AMAZING too, no two ways about it) is because somehow it seems to be SO MORE 'BRUTAL' and the opponent somehow seems more of a match... more MMA less Wing Chun in it, kinda has that very bestial rage driven fighting unlike Ip Man's controlled calm rage

Oh didn't notice it axe 1 sec. And yes the FP fight is definitely more for those who enjoy blood splatter and mixed martial arts techniques :)

Sigh, all this MMA talk.

I wonder how the world of MMA would've evolved if Bruce Lee didn't pass away. :(
