It looks amazing, but the stuff you mentioned aren´t even remotely close as a bugger for me.
The only bugger is the mouth not being deep enough.
Understandebly so, since it´s the speaker box.
But deeper and more sculpted inside, would be better and then even minus speech feature too.
:wink1:

I'll go with Timcent and this time let him mark value as low as he damn-well wants :lol It had worked before, I shouldn't have tried to fix what wasn't broken.

Yup, no brainer next time, I´d say.
But what gives. It was a little amount, you got it way earlier then your original order, all is well.

But yeah...4months most likely for us...damn.
And 2 for first in-hand pics from OMG and/or Jingo...
:gah:

I guess I just don't get it. The box wasn't massive by any means. Maybe Timcent was right to wonder WTF I was doing - marking it $80 was too high for a HK import :dunno

Was charged 19euros 45cent. Not horrific but not as ideal as zero euros either.

What was that based on man? Love to know where they got that figure?
:lol could have been a lot worse though.

I think I'm gonna sell the NECA ED209.
It just looks totally crappy compared to the HT ED and the movie.

Just watching it on the new BluRay and IT'S SO GOOD!
The new one dorsn't even come close.

HT ED209 looks pretty movie accurate besides from missing decals and the two missing screws on the front of the "chin".
If it just had Jon Davisons voice....

One is $60. The other is $400.

On the other hand, I think an Audi R8 looks much nicer than a Honda Civic. But that's just me.

It doesn't look crappy because of the size or the articulation.

The head/"face"is just totally off.
The legs are too thin...

Maybe they didn't base it on the same version of ED that Hot Toys based theirs on. There were differences between the full size and the stop-motion model?

Yeah, remember that the head is shaped differently between the full size and the stop motion puppet. Its possible HT chose one as the basis for their sculpt and NECA chose the other, I dunno.

The sound quality is great. Such a shame, not just about the re-dubbed un-intimidating voice, but how disjointed the rest of the sounds are. Why is the Activation, walk and deactivate sound - one continuous segment in the film - broken up into like 3 parts on the toy? In the words of **** Jones Hot Toys ''you really screwed up''.

Otherwise, amazing toy. A worthy upgrade.

Still no customized deeper grill mouth?
Anyone tried to remove the black oil stains on the legs screws?

They also skipped out on the fourth sound before ED goes prone, the cool spinning discs sound.
Its kinda of an important sound too because the spinning discs are what make ED legs go prone in the 1st place :lecture

The sound is an up,down, and all around failure. I'm NEVER that harsh on these things but I can say that with conviction. Everything else about this aside from minor nits is a grand slam.

Otherwise, amazing toy. A worthy upgrade.

You got the feeling back or still just meh?

Well.....I'm glad I have it. It really does make the old one seem like a low-end, very limited toy. But no, I guess I still don't feel the major excitement that someone whose never had an ED before would feel.
I'm very much ''Good, I've got the best the version of ED-209, that ones in the bag, now what's next''

Couple of other things that may be affecting my attitude is how long its been since it was first shown. You stare at pictures often enough it almost feels like you've already got it. (even when you don't have anything like it) And also, I'm actually getting it pretty late compared to many here, that 'new figure released!' buzz about the forum has gone for this thing.

Well said. Even though this will be my first ED-209, I'm not feeling super excited for my delivery, either (had to delay shipment from my local distributor by a few weeks, due to being on vacation). Going to be here on Monday, so I'm interested if actually having it in-hand will provide that rush of 'new acquisition' endorphins I so crave.

Mmmmm. I'm happy that this is my first ED then because I'm really buzzing off this thing!

I'm sure you'll get the rush brother. Especially if you were someone who wore the VCR tape out watching this 1000 times in the late 80's. I still give a little fist pump when I look over at him in my office. There's really not much more you can ask for in a high end 1/6 ED than this!
