I wonder whether those stormies have pegs drilled into the feet to stand them up for stability. Love the walking/running poses.

It's big, but it doesn't look that good. Like a small item was blown up and printed out. Doesn't look sharp or crisp.

I think there was a shot early on that looked like they were glueing them down.

Imagine if they used their own glue...

Not very stable if using HT glue.:lol

I do also love how they have all the stormies with screen accurate left handed grip. Impressive.

Yeah, a different animal to the TIE in terms of detail. Hoping to see some closer pics to see if this was a scan/3D print from files or more scratch built from styrene or something.

Yeah the details are really soft. Looks like the upscaled the Fine Molds 1/72 Falcon. Has the same horrible straight forward mandibles that the Fine Molds kit suffers from to it... Also the top quad turret cannon is wrong. Radar dish is way too small and the front jaw box it too wide. Hull armor plating is way to thick and not notched on the edges. Not sure why they would go through all the trouble of making it and it end up having so many inaccuracies. Would've thought with all the ref material out there they would've nailed it. The new hasbro hero falcon toy has a more accurate shape. Still impressive to see how big it is though.

You're right. Way back in the beginning of the thread with the teaser pic I mentioned it looking like a birthday cake because of the soft details in the back. Now that we've seen the whole thing, it looks better in pics far away. That satellite dish looks practically edible up close, like soft raised icing! :lol

I'm sure in person it's pretty impressive. Like you said, the size. Budget Stark's video really shows off some good details.

accurate or not, how can anyone not be blown away by this?!?

I would love to see it in person. A big thumbs up for HT having the balls to even make one.

I don't think this will weigh more than 100lbs assembled.

Is it going to be made of styrofoam? Because that's the only way it would come in under 100lbs. ;) Hmm, even then I think it would be considerably more than 100lbs.

They've already published the specs for this thing and it's at least 2000lbs (1 ton) - I didn't pull that number out of the air. And at such a light weight (that's not a typo) you can be sure it's not mostly MDF either. At only 2000lbs over such a large size, I'm confident it's pretty fragile.

My guess is it was built just as promotional item w/o a lot of care to get it perfect, but close enough. I imagine they used ready made items whenever possible to cut down on costs. But having said that, they did a very nice job on it. While it's got it's inaccuracies, it's nothing like the large SW items that are fan built and completely wonky.

It's made out of air, pixy dust and love :lecture

DeAgostini Falcon (which is 32" long( will weigh 24lbs once it's completed... and that's the outer hull being around an a 1/8" thick. So, no I'd think 100lbs is very far off the mark. I'd guess this thing would need a fairly significant steel frame to keep it from collapsing in on it's self.

If they are making 50 max it's going to be glass cloth in molds for the exterior over some internal structure, probably 1 inch alluminum.

The price sounds like a joke, but an item this large and still expensive is going to be limited. They're not going to tool injection molds for this
