I found it interesting that Sideshow's e-mail announcing this figure started with "Rogue One baddie Director Krennic" - like they felt the need to state who he was, as if he's obscure or people had to be reminded. Maybe it's a byproduct of "too much Star Wars" that we need a reminder for even pretty significant newer characters.:lol

It's harder to get fabric to look good and it will always have to be designed a little bigger than it should be. Sculpted means it looks right, is durable so it won't fall apart and it is easier to manufacture

The old Sideshow fabric Imperial cap was pretty damn good - considering it was like seven years ago and made by Sideshow. All I'm saying is that if they can get it that close that long ago, it would have been cool to see how a state-of-the-art company like HT would do it today.

I agree 100% in what you've said, though I have quite a few figures that have the caps and the fabric ones always have that slight edge of realism and quality over the sculpted versions.

Well, everything fades, no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Hat seems like the least of issues, I’d be scared about the pristine white tunic. That thing will most definitely go yellow over time....

Yeah, I bought a back-up Han smuggler shirt due to several people on here saying the shirt was badly yellowing - sure enough, my back-up went yellow. I had a DID white Nazi tunic for an Indy custom and it too went yellow. It's unfortunate, but I think its inevitable this uniform yellows, if only in certain places. The rain cloak may be okay if it's made of that type of sheer shower curtain fabric they made Leia's dress out of.

For those of you that would prefer a cloth hat over the plastic one, I highly recommend the one from the Flirty Girl Space Figure. I picked up one to try out on the original Disney Krennic figure release and it looks and is molded very well.

I think that Krennic is definitely obscure to casual geeks. I don't think it's a matter of people being needed to be reminded of all "significant, newer characters" per se since Rey, Kylo Ren, and BB-8 were pretty much all instant icons.

Come on KGHobby, even eu distributors got him up for PO already.

Yep, i've been checking them and DenDen Hobby as well for the last 24 hours. Unusually slow for both of them. THey might be preparing for the new year already :p

Likeness to the actor is really good on this one.
He keeps reminding me of the Dark Knight Rises scene with Bane asking him: "Do you feel in charge?"

So NDSam noticed that the nameplate on the display stand says "Orson Krennic".

Really hope they don't stick with that in production. Director Krennic world be far better. In fact they use that on all the artwork titles.

Tarkin doesn't have Wilhuff Tarkin on his nameplate !

I already wrote a comment on their FB page. But we definitely need to make them aware of it early on. Make some comments on FB that they can read guys.

Unless of course Orson Krennic does it for you as an Imperial title.....

I'f rather see more alternate cards for the base - Eadu platform Mustafar castle, Scarif tower grating, Death Star floor panel....

I personally wish HT would just go back to the standard oval bases. Name on the front bar and movie title graphic in the center of the oval.

They also provide more posing options to me because you can simply angle the base in any direction you want to get the figure angled in the direction you want for the pose.

Director Krennic does sound better, but Orson Krennic is still a badass SW name so I think I'd be fine with that too if they kept it. I tend to not pay much attention to the nameplates on these things anyway.
