When we see our heroes on Endor get caught in that net trap, I knew the film was in trouble. That whole scene was cringe-worthy.

The AT-ST's getting tripped up by logs and getting smashed between two logs... cringe-worthy.

Chewie swinging on the vine and doing the Tarzan yell... cringe-worthy.

Many other cringe-worthy scenes as well.

But to balance it all out, we had the amazing speeder bikes, The space battle, the Emperor and Luke vs Vader scenes.

I still love the film.

And nice... walking distance to my fave places on San Vincente. But hmm... were you close enough to hear the plaintive wail that fateful night?:horror

You know, a scream did wake me up that night. I thought nothing about it until the events unraveled over the next few days. Then it was freaky. But I lived a good 4 blocks away from Nicole and I think it is unlikely what I heard was her. Coincidence. More likely a neighbor having a good night. But I can still hear that scream in my head as a memory.

The man I worked for years before was good friends with OJ and Nicole and I met them on several occasions, so it was even more weird. Brentwood was never the same after that put it on the map.

It's Saw's line.... and Saw, love him or hate him, is basically representative of every OT Star Wars fan of old. He's clinging to what once was and doesn't trust the new world around him. Yet when it comes time for him to leave, he stays behind... to die... with his dream.

:lol

Similarly, Krennic represents the PT -- pompous and overbearing, determined that he is singularly great and that everyone else is standing on his achievements. Yet no one pays him much attention, he's so annoying. So much so, that the OT (Tarkin) swats him away in the end.

This sir, is poetry.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Wow. That's a weird connection. You should go to one of his signings now that he's out and try a "you probably don't remember me but...":lol

I had moved across town by then but still spent a lot of time hanging out at a buddy's place on Barrington (who strangely, also knew someone who knew Nicole - they were fixtures there I guess,) so close enough, but not on that night.

Eh, for me the sight of those AT-STs stomping around in their awesome stop-motion way more than makes up for whatever goofy thing the Ewoks happen to be doing. :D

God I would love to have seen the way Return of the Jedi was originally going to be. Leia was going to go and be the leader of what was left of her people, Han Solo was going to die during a raid on an Imperial bunker and at the end of the movie Luke was just going to walk off into the sunset like in a spaghetti western. There also was going to be no Death Star Part Deux or any ewoks. It was going to be a dark film with no happy ending and that is way more interesting than what we ended up getting. However I do love the rescue of Luke scene and the speeder bike chase. ;)

Put my itunes version of the movie on earlier while unboxing Jyn disguise, movie picked up right at the start of the scarif scene. :yess

ROTJ, RO, ANH and ESB are all playing right now on TNT.

Has Rogue One been on TV before? Here's your chance to DVR it.

Yep. Caught some of ANH earlier. :lol

As far as R1, I think this might be the television premiere. At least on TNT. Earlier this week, I recall them advertising that it was going to be on TV this evening, and I THINK they mentioned that it was the premiere.

Excellent scuplt!

Got my Krennic preorder in. For those thinking of using popcultcha the preorder discount ends tomorrow.

Nice. I suspect the PC preorder discount expiry is tied to the date they need to get final order numbers to Hot Toys so those wanting to preorder should do so now to ensure HT gets the message we want more RO figs.

Exactly this ! Some Asian suppliers even give a cut off date for pre-orders which would also be linked to HT cut off for final production run numbers.

Things have dried up since the director. nothing for Star Wars from ht! My boredom has pushed me into restarting my vintage gi joe collection. It’s getting expensive. Hurry up hot toys!

It’s Marvel season again. No space for SW stuff.
