I got an 8 day notice so this will be shipping to me on the 9th of September. They must be shipping them out in batches in the order they were ordered on their website. Looking forward to it but seeing as its direct from SS I am going to get hammered by Fedex so it takes the total to almost 400 euros.

With twelve figures still on preorder, and only one or two of them a long way off, I can't early process anything. On the plus side, I should be receiving a figure a month starting around November, and 2 will be shipping at the same time. If it weren't for Flex Pay, I'd never be able to buy these things.

Just got the processing e-mail. It states the following:

Your pre-order of the Iron Man Mark XXIV "Tank" - Iron Man 3 - Sixth Scale Figure (Hot Toys) (902443) will be arriving into our U.S. warehouse in approximately 12 days at which time we will charge your card for the item. Please review your shipping address and payment information (shown below) at this time to be sure they are correct before (approximately) Wednesday, September 23, 2015. If you need to make any changes or updates you must do so directly on your order through your online account.

I got an email 2 weeks ago that this was being charged on the 9th of September and it has just been shipped on the 15th. They are shipping it direct from Hong Kong which is a new one for me and it is by UPS which I am not happy about as they are not the most careful at delivering packages and the last time I had some issues with them.

BTW I never got a shipping notice, I only found out by going into my Sideshow account.

Am I the only one who thinks the blast effects look like candy corn? And the chest blast kinda looks like a, uh, well, you know?

I agree, that is why they will be staying in the box as it makes the figure look like a cheap toy. Those mini figs are staying in the box also.

Just what is the purpose of the minifigs anyway? Are they supposed to help create the image of three armors shooting upward into the sky? Don't the dark, bendy poles destroy the "illusion"?

It's like HT is trying, desperately, to justify this carrying an "Exclusive" label.

They don't hav to to justify the "exclusive tag". Nor would they try. The sticker is all a collectible company would need to do. 15 years worth of business would be more then enough time to figure that out.

As for the poles destroying the "illusion"...if that's a deal breaker you might as well stop collecting. The whole industry is built on that "illusion" effect. Ever flying figure has the same type of base. Every single figure requires some type of illusion to believe it's anything other then a cheap plastic toy. You may not like this particular feature but slamming it becuase you need imagination to get the feature isn't the way to go. Every figure has the same thing, to some degree. And the little mini figures on a pole are closer to reality then the digital image it's based on. Ones a real item and ones a computer program.

They don't have to justify the 'Ex' tag, but they should at least make an attempt to justify a ~$320 price tag to your door for what's pretty much a repaint of a figure that retails $50 cheaper, and chucking in candy corns and cereal box mini figs nobody ever asked for doesn't accomplish that for many people. If you're happy with those, that's fine too.

Neither the digital image nor the Happy Meal toys are close to reality, but the digital rendering looks way better imo than seeing them propped up on mini poles behind Tank just as the CGI IM suits look better on film than they do as dolls on my shelf. It's preference.

That's your opinion. It's my contention that that shiny little silver sticker is a way to convince collectors to buy a repaint of a figure that was drastically discounted by SSC.

This figure and its accompanying minifigs are especially egregious.

You've added circular thinking to your collection of logical fallacies (the strawman being a particular favorite of yours). Congratulations.

My mini-figs are staying in the box and I don't like that chest blast at all but I may display him with the gauntlet blasts...those don't look too bad, to me anyway.
