:lol @ the knee-jerk reactions based on an unfinished model...

Based on what they've shown and done, it does seem that they'll be sacrificing articulation. How the Berserker body turned out is a good indication. I'm hoping they use a muscular body similar to their Leonidas figure, though, instead of their Berserker body.

Avatar figures we want to do the kneeling poses not just standing poses. Come on, now. Better articulation. I sacrifice a few joints toy like feature for articulation.

Only in for Quatrich I think anyway, but it would swing me if they had knee articulation too.

Hope so, already looks like a nice start.

So you want a crappy rubber body that won't last a year? I rather have a more durable body.

I don't know what the beserker's body is made of though. Does it have rubber parts? If not that's good news if the avatar figures are going to be like that one.

Well we can already see in the picture the figure will have joints not rubber. If it was going to have a muscle body they wouldn't have bothered adding the joints

I can't really see the knee joints i hope the legs aren't made out of rubber.

I really hope they release the War Paint version first.

Hell, they can make it Jake in RDA clothes and the War paint version in one, would only require a swappable head

I don't think you can get the kneeling and other more extreme poses with a rubber body like Leonidas - not without stressing the rubber (just look at Leo's instruction sheet!) To get those poses you need a regular Truetype-type body with the exposed (and unsightly) joints and all. A Berzerker approach may be the best balance between aethetics and durability. But these are early proto pics, so we'll see.

I have to agree that the Berserker approach might be the best fit considering what the Na'vi look like (aka almost naked). Due to what should be the size of the figures, a regular truetype body would definitely look even more unsightly

If that picture is any indication of how far along they are right now, it maybe another 6 months or more until we get any official specs and pics of the first figure.

My Leonidas figure is still doing well, as are some of the other muscle bodies like Dutch etc.

Berserker's is hard plastic all the way, and the articulation is atrocious. For Berserker, though, I have to admit that a rubber body might not do since the scaly details have a lot of paint applications. Na'vi figures won't have as much, and since their skin is akin to humans, they might go for muscular rubber bodies.

It's possible to put them in some poses, but not too long. Just enough for photo ops etc. At the least, the articulation points are there.

This picture alone will tell you that this is not a rubber muscle body. At least not a complete one. The arms are jointed. The torso is the only part that could be a rubber body. Which I'm perfectly fine with.

Based on these early pictures, I'm really digging the design. Pretty excited for these.

If the figures are made of hard plastic, i will buy them right away. If they have rubber body parts i won't.

Leonidas is pretty new btw, that figure won't last long.

Paint on rubber doesn't really work so a rubber torso would be bad news aswell in my opinion. Rubber just doesn't belong in high quality figures:lecture.
